Los Angeles Controls the West
The Los Angeles Dodgers are the reigning champions, and look as if they are ready for another run in 2026. The NL West has been a powerful division over the past few seasons, but the Dodgers still have a 7.5-game lead over the field. They will be travelling in from Pittsburgh on Thursday night, where they split the first two games, seeing both go over the total. In Wednesday's game, Ohtani had two RBIs at the plate, but gave up four runs on the mound in the loss.
Ohtani has been solid this season, and will likely be an All-Star again, but he has not been as dominant as previous seasons. So far he has 12 home runs, 39 RBIs and six stolen bases, but does not lead the team in any of those categories. Ohtani is their leadoff hitter, and typically takes the DH spot. Their top home run hitter thus far has been Andy Pages with 15, and he also leads all of baseball with 56 RBIs. Pages bats second, as is protected by Freddie Freeman and Mookie Betts who bat after him. Freeman has 10 homers and 36 RBIs on the year.
Roki Sasaki will make his 12th start of the season as a 24-year old right hander. He has a a 3-3 record, with the Dodgers winning three of his last five starts overall. His ERA is 4.03 to go with 60 strikeouts against 21 walks. In his last appearance, Sasaki pitched seven scoreless innings, striking out 10 and only allowing two hits in a win over the Angels.

White Sox Continue Turn Around Season
The Chicago White Sox finished in the bottom of the AL Central in each of the past two seasons, but are turning things around so far in 2026. Chicago finds themselves at the top of the division, holding just a half game lead over the Guardians, but a six game lead over the third place Twins. Momentum is in their favor, as they just took the first two games in a series against the Braves who have been dominating the NL East through early June.
Chicago won a low scoring battle on Wednesday over Atlanta, winning 2-1, and putting themselves at the top of the division. Munetaka Murakami has been their top power hitter with 20 home runs, but Chicago will have to learn to win without him as he will miss this game while on the 10-day IL for a hamstring issue. Colson Montgomery is their starting shortstop with 16 home runs, but he is also banged up, as he missed Wednesday's game with a back injury. This leaves Miguel Vargas as their top offensive threat, he has 16 home runs and leads the team with 43 RBIs.
Sean Burke will make his 11th start of the season, and he has made three other appearances out of the bullpen. He is a 26-year old right hander with a 3-3 record, with the team winning in each of his last two showings. His ERA is 3.88 to go with a 67-23 strikeout to walk ratio. In his last appearance, he came out of the bullpen to pitch 4.1 innings, allowing three runs in a win over the Phillies.
Dodgers vs. White Sox Picks and Predictions
Moneyline pick for Dodgers vs. White Sox
- Dodgers (5 units)
Chicago is a fun story, and been has a profitable bet in 2026, but this is not the time to back them. There will be a let down moment here, as Chicago just won a series against Atlanta, but will not be able to keep up this level of production against the top teams in the league. Add on top of this that Chicago will likely be without two of their most productive offensive players, and it is clear they will not be able to keep up with the powerful Dodgers. Murakami and Montgomery are likely to miss this game for Chicago, while all of the Dodgers top players will be available. Expect a big Los Angeles win here.
Take the Dodgers to win.
Over/Under Pick for Dodgers vs. White Sox
- Under (4 units)
Chicago will come back down to Earth in this one, especially without their top two home run hitters. With Murakami on the IL, and Montgomery dealing with back issues, Chicago will be strapped for offensive talent. The Dodgers bullpen held opposing offenses to three or fewer runs in three of their last five games, and will shut down this limited White Sox lineup. Burke is a quality pitcher for the Sox, he may not win the game, but he will not get embarrassed on the mound either. Both teams play on Thursday before this quick turnaround, so do not expect a high scoring outing here.
Take the under.
