Pitching Matchup

Milwaukee Brewers – Shane Drohan

Drohan is 4-2 with a 2.97 ERA and a 1.24 WHIP across 63.2 innings this season. The left-hander has allowed 59 hits while striking out 61 batters and surrendering only five home runs. Drohan has consistently provided quality starts and enters this matchup in excellent form.

Pittsburgh Pirates – Bubba Chandler

Chandler is 3-8 with a 4.82 ERA and a 1.44 WHIP over 89.2 innings. He has allowed 77 hits while striking out 79 batters but has also issued 52 walks. Chandler has shown swing-and-miss ability, though command issues have led to inconsistent results throughout the season.

Milwaukee Brewers vs. Pittsburgh Pirates Pick

  • Milwaukee Brewers

Milwaukee has the edge with the stronger pitching staff and the more reliable starting pitcher. Drohan has been outstanding all season with an ERA below 3.00, while Chandler has struggled to consistently limit baserunners. The Brewers also continue to receive production throughout the lineup and enter this matchup after winning four of their last five contests. Pittsburgh has one of baseball's better offenses, but Milwaukee's pitching has been the most dependable unit in the league. The Brewers are the play.

Milwaukee Brewers vs. Pittsburgh Pirates Over/Under Pick

  • Under

Drohan gives Milwaukee a significant advantage on the mound, and the Brewers own the lowest team ERA in baseball. While Pittsburgh has produced strong offensive numbers throughout the season, Milwaukee's pitching staff has consistently limited scoring opportunities and hard contact. Chandler has been inconsistent, but the Brewers rely more on balanced offense than explosive scoring. With one elite pitching staff dominating and Drohan capable of working deep into the contest, the result will be the total cashing under.
