Milwaukee has been up and down recently

Milwaukee (87-55 SU, 79-63 RL, and 67-70-5 O/U) lost two of three against Philadelphia in its previous series. The Brew Crew is 5-5 in the last ten games (the over was 5-4-1).

Milwaukee is starting right-hander Jacob Misiorowski tomorrow against Pittsburgh. In his last outing, the 23-year-old allowed three runs and six hits in 4.1 innings against the Phillies. He is 4-2 with a 4.50 ERA and 1.15 WHIP in 11 starts (48.0 IP) this season, including 1-2 with a 7.23 ERA and 1.34 WHIP in five road starts (18.2 IP).

The Brewers have been postseason contenders for the past few seasons but have struggled when the lights were bright, posting a 2-10 record in the playoffs since 2019. Milwaukee turned a corner in June (16-9) and has dominated since then. Will they sustain their pace over the final few weeks of the regular season?

Milwaukee Brewers Baseball Injury Report: No injuries for Sunday's game versus the Pirates.

Pirates are playing better baseball lately

Pittsburgh (64-78 SU, 77-65 RL, and 58-79-5 O/U) swept Los Angeles (NL) in its previous series. The Pirates are 7-3 in their last ten games (the under was 6-4).

The Pirates haven't named a probable starter for Sunday's game. The ballclub will likely use an opener and a long reliever in a bullpen game. If Pittsburgh opts for that route, Carmen Mlodzinski could open, and Bubba Chandler would be used as a long reliever, as they did five games ago against LA.

Paul Skenes has been the most interesting aspect of Pitt's 2025 season, as the ballclub as a whole hasn't made much noise in the NL Central. The Pirates have talent, as O'Neil Cruz, Bryan Reynolds, and Andrew McCutchen are solid players, but they need more help. Can they at least wrap up the season on a high note?

Pittsburgh Pirates Baseball Injury Report: No new injuries for tomorrow's game versus the Dodgers.

Brewers vs. Pirates Pick

Moneyline Pick for Brewers vs. Pirates

  • Milwaukee ML (5 Units)

Misiorowski beat Pittsburgh earlier in the season, holding the Buccos scoreless with eight Ks in just five innings. He can keep them in check again tomorrow, building on what has been a solid rookie season. The Pirates have played better baseball recently, but after a sweep of the Dodgers, they're unlikely to continue to roll. Chandler has only made three big league appearances, and now he faces a Milwaukee lineup that's ranked third in wRC+ in the second half of the season. I'll take Milwaukee's side in Sunday's tilt with Pittsburgh.

Over/Under Pick for Brewers vs. Pirates

  • Under (4 Units)

The Pirates' bats will be cooled off in Sunday's game by the Miz, who has held 9 of 11 opponents to three or fewer runs. He ranks in the 98th percentile of all MLB pitchers in xBA, Fastball Velo, and K%. His 2.94 xERA ranks in the 91st percentile, too. Milwaukee's pen ranks just outside the top ten in ERA this season, as well. I'm also less bullish on the Brewers' lineup in what will likely be a bullpen game. When teams only get one AB per pitcher, they're less effective, and I expect Pittsburgh to use several arms in tomorrow's game.
