Twins have dominated the Angels in 2025
Minnesota (64-80 SU, 68-76 RL, and 68-67-9 O/U) lost two of three games to Kansas City in its previous series. The Twins are 3-7 in their last ten games (the over was 7-3).
Minnesota will start right-hander Taj Bradley tomorrow against the Angels. In his last outing, the 24-year-old surrendered four runs on eight hits with six Ks in five innings against the White Sox. He is 6-7 with a 4.92 ERA and 1.31 WHIP in 24 starts (126.1 IP) this year, including 2-4 with a 4.50 ERA and 1.28 WHIP in 11 road starts (60.0 IP).
The Twins had a solid run in May, compiling an 18-8 record, but have collapsed since then (32-54). The front office decided against investing in the ballclub at the trade deadline, making multiple trades that left Minnesota in poor shape for the final two months of the season. In other words, it's likely the Twins won't be making an appearance in the postseason in 2025.
Minnesota Twins Baseball Injury Report: No new injuries to report for Wednesday's game versus Los Angeles.
Los Angeles is 13-14 as a home favorite
Los Angeles (67-77 SU, 77-67 RL, and 78-63-3 O/U) dropped two of three games to the Athletics in its previous series. The Angels are 5-5 in their last ten games (the over was 7-3).
The Halos will start righty José Soriano on Wednesday against Minnesota. In his last outing (2.1 IP loss vs. the A's), the 26-year-old allowed eight runs on five hits and five walks. He is 10-10 with a 4.07 ERA and 1.37 WHIP in 29 starts (163.2 IP) this season, including 2-8 with a 5.90 ERA and 1.57 WHIP in 15 home starts (76.1 IP).
Los Angeles lost 99 games last season, the most in franchise history. The club has made significant strides in 2025, flirting with .500 at various points in the season. They're also 11 games over .500 against the run line. While it likely won't result in a trip to the postseason, LA has made progress.
Los Angeles Angels Baseball Injury Report: No new injuries for tomorrow's game against the Twins.
Twins vs. Angels Pick
Spread Pick for Twins vs. Angels
- Twins ML +120 (4 Units)
Bradley is more effective than his 4.92 ERA suggests, as his 3.88 xERA is over a run lower, and he does a solid job limiting barrels (75th percentile) and hard hits (68th percentile). Soriano's xERA is about the same as his actual ERA, and he ranks in the bottom five percent of MLB pitchers in hard-hit percentage. The Angels' starter also struggles with free passes (15th percentile in BB%).
Minnesota won game one of this series 12-3 and swept Los Angeles earlier this season, outscoring the Angels 21-5 in the three-game set. Bet Minnesota's side in Wednesday's matinee finale.
Over/Under Pick for Twins vs. Angels
- Under 9 (4 Units)
Neither lineup has much previous experience against Wednesday's scheduled starters, as the Angels have just six combined ABs against Bradley and the Twins have faced Soriano 16 times. That inexperience is likely to work in the pitchers' favor, keeping scoring to a minimum through the first five or six innings. The Angels have only scored eight total runs in their first four games against the Twins this season, and I don't expect them to fare well against Bradley, who is due for positive regression. Soriano has been up and down recently, but after a poor performance in his last start, I believe he'll respond with a better effort on Wednesday. These bullpens are ineffective, but if the starters can give their teams length, they should be more reliable.
