Taijuan Walker gets the start on Friday. He’s 5-8 with a 4.17 ERA and 1.39 WHIP this season. For as strong as Philadelphia has been, Walker has struggled down the stretch. The Phillies have dropped four of his last six outings, and he’s been hit hard with a 7.80 ERA over his last three.

Offensively, Trea Turner leads the team with a 5.3 WAR, batting .305 with 15 home runs and 69 RBI. Kyle Schwarber has been the main power source, posting a 4.8 WAR with 53 homers, 128 RBI and a .370 OBP.
Diamondbacks still in contention
The Arizona Diamondbacks haven’t been mathematically eliminated yet and are only two games back of a wild-card spot with 11 games to play. They’ve won four of their last five but are coming off a 5-1 loss to the Giants. Ryne Nelson takes the ball on Friday.
In 31 appearances and 21 starts, Nelson is 7-3 with a 3.34 ERA and 1.06 WHIP. At home, he’s been even better, going 5-1 with a 2.51 ERA. It’s impressive that Arizona is still in the hunt after moving Eugenio Suarez and Josh Naylor before the All-Star break. Geraldo Perdomo leads the club with a 6.8 WAR, hitting .289 with 19 homers, 97 RBI and 26 steals. Corbin Carroll has added a 5.2 WAR along with 30 homers, 76 RBI and 29 steals.
