The Philadelphia Phillies fought to keep their postseason and World Series hopes alive on Wednesday with a win on the road. The Phillies earned the 2-seed in the National League and a first-round bye, but it may have cooled their momentum as they lost their first two games of this series at home. Philadelphia is now in another must win scenario on the road, as they well send this series back to Philly for Game 5 if they can pull off the win.
Kyle Schwarber has been the best bat for the Phillies all season, even if he started this series going 0-7 in Games 1 and 2. On Wednesday, he broke out with two homers and three RBIs. Schwarber led all of Major League Baseball with 132 RBIs to go with his 56 home runs which finished second in the league behind only Cal Raleigh of Seattle. Schwarber was their leadoff hitter in their most recent seasons, but moved to second in the lineup behind Trea Turner this season. Turner is their shortstop who finished the year with 15 home runs and 69 RBIs. Bryce Harper had another solid season despite missing some games with an injury, he had 27 home runs and 75 RBIs on the year.
The Phillies have not yet named their starter for this game, but it will not be Nola or Luzardo as they started each of the last two games. The Phillies gave up five or fewer runs in each of the first two games, and finished the season ranked 8th in ERA at 3.79.

Dodgers Need One More Win
The Los Angeles Dodgers had their chance to close the series on Wednesday night, but were unable to finish off the Phillies in Game 3 at home. The Dodgers still have one more game at home before the series would be sent back to Philadelphia if the Dodgers were to fall in this game. Los Angeles is the reigning champs, and wants to close this series after stealing the first two games on the road.
The Dodgers have a strong offense, but the bullpen often leaves much to be desired. Their offense will need to come up big with another win here, led by their all-world talent Shohei Ohtani. The part-time pitcher and full-time designated hitter bats leadoff for the Dodgers, and finished the season third in the league in home runs with 55 home runs. Ohtani also added 102 RBIs while batting .282 at the plate. Teoscar Hernandez has been one of the best postseason performers coming into this game. The former Home Run Derby Champion had 25 home runs in the regular season and had three over his first four playoff games.
Tyler Glasnow will start this game for the Dodgers as a 32-year-old right-hander. The 6'8 pitcher is a strong presence on the mound, and finished the season with a 4-3 record and a 3.19 ERA. He had a 106-43 strikeout to walk ratio, he pitched in Game 1 of this series in relief, going for 1.2 scoreless innings in their win.
