Can Phillies' Nola rediscover his stuff before the playoffs?
Philadelphia (74-53 SU, 67-60 RL, and 55-67-7 O/U) swept Seattle in its previous series. The Phillies are 6-4 in their last ten games (the over/under was split 4-4-2).
Philly is turning to righty Aaron Nola tomorrow against the Brewers. In his last start, the 32-year-old gave up four runs on four hits and three walks in a six-inning win against Atlanta. He is 3-7 with a 6.47 ERA and 1.50 WHIP in 12 starts (64.0 IP) this year, including 0-4 with a 6.39 ERA and 1.42 WHIP in six home starts (31.0 IP).
The Mets may have garnered more offseason hype, but bettors can't overlook the Phillies. They have one of the best lineups in MLB, with All-Stars littered on the field. The Phillies have been tough to beat at home (45-23 record) and in night games (53-36), but are just .500 on the road. Can they continue to hold off New York in the division title race?

Milwaukee is 29-14 since the All-Star break
Milwaukee (85-54 SU, 77-62 RL, and 67-68-4 O/U) won two of three against Toronto in its previous series. The Brew Crew is 4-6 in the last ten games (the over was 7-3).
Milwaukee is starting lefty Jose Quintana tomorrow against Philadelphia. In his last outing, the 36-year-old allowed six runs on five hits and four walks in 3.2 innings against Arizona. He is 10-5 with a 3.69 ERA and 1.29 WHIP in 21 starts (114.2 IP) this season, including 3-4 with a 5.05 ERA and 1.45 WHIP in ten home starts (51.2 IP).
The Brewers have been postseason contenders for the past few seasons but have struggled when the lights were bright, posting a 2-10 record in the playoffs since 2019. Milwaukee turned a corner in June (16-9) and is 54-26 since then. Will they sustain their pace over the final few weeks of the regular season?
Milwaukee Brewers Baseball Injury Report: No injuries for Wednesday's game versus the Phillies.
Brewers ML -113 (4 Units)
The Brewers are the side to back in Wednesday's game. Nola was 1-7 with a 6.16 ERA in nine starts before going on the IL, and hasn't improved in his three outings since his return (7.53 ERA). I don't trust him enough to back him against a Milwaukee lineup ranked second in wRC+ in the second half.
Aside from one recent outing, Quintana has been reliable, holding his previous five opponents to nine combined runs. He will handle a Phillies offense ranked 20th in wRC+ on the road. Current Philadelphia hitters have a .226 BA in 266 combined plate appearances against the Brewers' starter, too.
Under 9 (4 Units)
I like the under in tomorrow's Phillies vs. Brewers contest. Like Quintana, Nola has solid career stats against his opponent, holding current Milwaukee hitters to a .231 BA/.225 xBA in 111 combined plate appearances. While he's tough to rely on, he may be building momentum after consecutive wins. While it would surprise me if both starters turn in quality starts, I don't anticipate these teams combining for ten or more runs.
