Pitching Matchup

San Diego Padres - Michael King

Michael King is 10-9 with a 3.00 ERA and 1.17 WHIP across 168 innings. The right-hander has allowed 130 hits, 66 walks and 18 home runs while recording 144 strikeouts. King has worked the largest workload among Saturday’s starters, and his ability to limit hits has helped him maintain one of San Diego’s strongest season-long ERAs.

San Francisco Giants - César Perdomo

Cesar Perdomo has a 0.90 ERA and 0.80 WHIP across 10 innings. The left-hander has allowed six hits, two walks and one home run while striking out eight. Perdomo has yet to record a decision, but his early numbers include very few baserunners and just one earned run allowed across his innings on the mound.

San Diego Padres vs San Francisco Giants Game Pick

  • San Diego Padres

San Diego is the pick with King providing a strong starting point for a club chasing a Wild Card berth. The Padres have won four straight, and King owns a 3.00 ERA with a 1.17 WHIP across 168 innings. San Francisco has also played better recently, but Perdomo has worked only 10 innings despite posting excellent numbers. San Diego’s 3.88 team ERA is also better than San Francisco’s 4.34 mark. With Arizona close behind, the Padres have enough pitching and power to win Saturday.

San Diego Padres vs San Francisco Giants Over/Under Pick

  • Under

A lower-scoring game is the better direction with King starting for San Diego and Perdomo showing strong early results for San Francisco. King has allowed 18 home runs over 168 innings while posting a 3.00 ERA, and Perdomo owns a 0.90 ERA through 10 innings. The Padres have surrendered only eight runs across their last three games, while the Giants allowed 11 during their three-game winning streak. Both offenses have power, but the starting pitching numbers make under the play Saturday afternoon.
