Kansas City Royals Searching for a Response at Home

Kansas City needs a better response after Friday’s 9-2 loss, which followed a 7-3 victory over Miami. The Royals have dropped four of their last five games, allowing at least six runs in each defeat. Kansas City is batting .248 with a .316 on-base percentage and .403 slugging percentage. The Royals have scored 608 runs with 148 home runs, and their 114 stolen bases add another way to create scoring chances.

Jac Caglianone has produced 23 home runs and 69 RBI while batting .281 with a .493 slugging percentage. Carter Jensen has added 22 homers and 67 RBI. Pitching Matchup

Toronto Blue Jays - Spencer Arrighetti

Spencer Arrighetti is 7-8 with a 4.82 ERA and 1.34 WHIP across 99 innings. The right-hander has allowed 78 hits, 55 walks and 15 home runs while recording 97 strikeouts. Arrighetti has kept his hit total below his innings pitched, but the 55 walks have increased the number of baserunners he has needed to work around. He heads into Sunday one inning short of reaching 100 for the season.

Kansas City Royals - Randy Dobnak

Randy Dobnak is 2-3 with a 2.65 ERA and 1.39 WHIP through 57.2 innings. The right-hander has allowed 57 hits, 23 walks and five home runs while striking out 40. Dobnak’s ERA has remained below 3.00 through his current workload, and he has kept home runs limited. His 23 walks have contributed to the higher WHIP, but only five balls have left the park against him this season.
