Brooklyn Nets (11-24) vs. Memphis Grizzlies (16-22)

There are 10 games around the Association on Sunday, January 11, 2026, including the cross-conference showdown at FedExForum in Memphis, TN, so we have prepared the Nets vs. Grizzlies prediction to get you covered.

Brooklyn meets Memphis for the first time this season. They split a two-game set in 2024-25, with each team emerging victorious at home. The last time they met, Memphis beat Brooklyn 135-119 as a 10-point fave, and the game flew over the 228-point line.

Now, let’s take a closer look at this Nets vs. Grizzlies prediction, one of our NBA picks for Sunday’s slate. The tip-off at FedExForum is set at 3:30 PM ET.

The Nets are back to losing ways

The Brooklyn Nets (11-24; 16-19 ATS; 15-20 O/U) went 7-4 SU and ATS in December. In January, they are 1-4 SU and 2-3 ATS, and the lowly Nets have only won one of their previous six games overall. After snapping their three-game skid with a 127-115 victory to the Denver Nuggets, the Nets dropped consecutive home games against the Orlando Magic 104-103 in overtime and the LA Clippers 121-105.

Brooklyn erased an 18-point deficit against Orlando, but failed to come out on top. The Nets shot just 41.9% from the field (17-for-51 from deep) and missed eight of their 22 shots from the foul line. Against the Clippers, Brooklyn made only 40.0% of its field goals (15-for-47 from deep), and Michael Porter Jr. led the way with 18 points, six assists, and four steals.

Porter Jr. is having a nice first year in Brooklyn, averaging 26.1 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 3.3 assists. However, the Nets are one of the worst teams in the league. They score 112.2 points per 100 possessions (26th in the NBA) and surrender 117.4 points in return (20th). Brooklyn is second in 3-point rate (.481) and 23rd in 3-point percentage (34.4%).

The Grizzlies are struggling, too

The Memphis Grizzlies (16-22; 17-21 ATS; 15-23 O/U) have only won one of their previous seven games overall (2-5 ATS). Last Tuesday, the Grizzlies outlasted the San Antonio Spurs 106-105 as 6-point home underdogs to put an end to their four-game losing streak. On Wednesday, Memphis lost to the Phoenix Suns 117-98, while the Oklahoma City Thunder edged the Grizzlies 117-116 this past Friday.

The Grizzlies covered a 5.5-point spread on Friday, but they managed to blow a 21-point lead. OKC outscored Memphis 71-51 in the second half. The Grizzlies shot 46.6% from the field (14-for-41 from downtown) and posted 16 more rebounds than OKC, but it wasn’t enough. Jaren Jackson Jr. led the way with 23 points and seven rebounds.

Ja Morant (19.0 PPG, 7.6 APG) missed four straight games with a calf injury, and the Grizzlies are entertaining offers to move him ahead of the trade deadline. Memphis holds the No. 10 seed in the West, a game and a half ahead of the Clippers. The Grizzlies score 112.8 points per 100 possessions (24th in the NBA) and allow 114.2 points in return (tied for 12th).

Spread Pick for Nets vs. Grizzlies

  • Memphis Grizzlies (4 units)

Both Brooklyn and Memphis have struggled a lot lately, and it’s fair to say that this game could easily go either way. The Grizzlies are without Ja Morant and Zach Edey (13.6 PPG, 11.1 RPG), but I have to take Memphis because of its defense.

Memphis is arguably a better defensive team than Brooklyn. Moreover, the Grizzlies are fourth in the NBA in defensive rebound percentage (75.4%), whereas the Nets rank 23rd in this category (73.3%).

The Grizzlies take decent care of the ball. On the other side, the Nets are dead last in the league in turnover percentage (14.1%), and they play at the fourth-slowest pace in the NBA (97.0 possessions per 48 minutes).

Over/Under Pick for Nets vs. Grizzlies

  • Under (4 units)

The Grizzlies prefer to push the ball in transition. They register 101.6 possessions per 48 minutes (6th in the NBA), but the Grizzlies’ offensive execution is far from elite level. Memphis makes 34.7% of its shots from deep (22nd) and 53.2% of its shots from inside the arc (23rd).

As I noted, the Nets play at a slow pace and are turnover-prone. They take a ton of shots from beyond the arc, but their 3-point percentage is pretty bad. I can only look at the under when it comes to the total in this game.
