Bulls Squeak By Suns On The Road

Chicago comes into Sacramento off that 105–103 road win in Phoenix, the kind of grind-it-out result they just weren’t getting during the 11-game losing streak. Now they’ve taken two of their last three, and at least look like a group that’s stabilized a bit. For the season, the Bulls are sitting at 115.5 points per game on 46.9% shooting, with a quietly strong 36.4% from three and a top‑10 rebounding mark at 44.7 boards per night. The problem all year has been on the other end: they’re allowing 119.7 points per game, opponents are shooting 47.4% from the field, and teams are hitting 36.8% from deep against them. That combination has forced them to win shootouts more often than not, which is a tough way to live over 82 games.

Against Sacramento, the matchup is all about discipline and control. The Kings want to run, spread the floor, and turn missed shots into quick threes, so Chicago’s transition defense and rebounding have to travel. If the Bulls can lean into their strengths—solid three‑point shooting, balanced scoring, and strong work on the glass—they can at least dictate stretches of tempo instead of getting dragged into a full‑speed track meet. Keeping Sacramento off the offensive boards, staying attached to shooters, and avoiding those dead stretches where the offense stalls for four or five minutes will decide whether this recent mini‑surge is real or just a blip.

The Long Season Continues For The Kings

Sacramento returns home trying to stop the bleeding after a 133–123 loss to New Orleans, a game where they actually shot the ball fairly well but couldn’t string together stops when it mattered. That defeat pushed their losing streak to three straight, and at 14–50, the season has been defined by defensive breakdowns and long stretches where the offense can’t keep pace. The numbers tell the story: the Kings sit at 110.4 points per game (29th), shoot 46.3% from the field, and are last in the league in three‑point accuracy at 33.4%. On the other end, they’ve allowed 121.3 points per game (28th), opponents are hitting 49.6%, and teams are knocking down 36.8% from deep against them. Even their rebounding — 41.6 per game, 26th — has made it tough to finish possessions cleanly.

Against Chicago, the Kings need to tighten the screws defensively and avoid letting the game tilt into the kind of rhythm where their opponent gets comfortable early. Chicago shoots the three well and rebounds at a top‑10 level, so Sacramento has to be sharper on closeouts and more physical on the glass. Offensively, the Kings need to lean into pace, ball movement, and attacking the paint rather than settling for contested jumpers, especially given their season‑long struggles from deep. If they can control tempo, limit second‑chance points, and avoid the defensive lapses that have buried them during this skid, they can at least give themselves a chance to stabilize things at home.

Chicago vs Sacramento Raptors Pick

Bulls vs Kings Spread Pick

  • Chicago -3 (4 Units)

Chicago ‑3 feels like the right side because the Bulls are at least trending upward while Sacramento keeps sinking. Chicago has won two of three after that brutal 11‑game skid, and the win in Phoenix showed a team finally closing possessions, defending with some urgency, and leaning into the things they actually do well — efficient shooting, top‑10 rebounding, and steady three‑point production. Sacramento, on the other hand, is stuck in another spiral: three straight losses, 14–50 overall, bottom‑two scoring offense, bottom‑three scoring defense, and the worst opponent field‑goal percentage in the league. They just gave up 133 at home and haven’t shown they can string together stops for more than a few minutes at a time. With Chicago playing cleaner basketball and Sacramento leaking points everywhere, the Bulls are simply the more stable side right now, and laying a short number makes sense.

Bulls vs Kings Over/Under Pick

  • Over 235 (5 Units)

The Over 235 fits this matchup a lot better than the number suggests because both teams naturally drift into faster, higher‑possession games, and Sacramento’s defense has been one of the most forgiving units in the league. The Kings are giving up 121.3 points per game, opponents shoot 49.6%, and they rarely force teams into tough possessions, which is a dangerous mix against a Chicago offense that’s been more efficient lately and sits at 115.5 points per game with top‑10 three‑point accuracy. Sacramento also plays with pace by default, and their home games tend to open up because they struggle to control the glass and can’t slow teams in transition. Add in the fact that the Kings’ own offense usually looks better at home — even in losses — and you’ve got a matchup where both sides can get into the 110s without much resistance. With Chicago trending upward and Sacramento unable to string together stops, this one has all the ingredients for a game that pushes past 235.
