Jokic has been unstoppable so far this season, averaging 28.8 points, 13.1 rebounds, and 10.9 assists. He’s recorded six triple-doubles in 11 games while making 68.4% of his field goals. Cameron Johnson (7.2 PPG) and Christian Braun (11.4 PPG) both suffered injuries against the Clippers and are questionable for Saturday’s game against Minnesota.
The Nuggets tally a whopping 124.5 points per 100 possessions (2nd in the NBA) and allow 111.1 points in return (3rd). They shoot 35.5% from beyond the arc (17th), but the Nuggets are second in the league in both 2-point percentage (60.2%) and free-throw percentage (84.4%).
The Timberwolves hope to stay hot
The 7-4 Minnesota Timberwolves were looking for their fourth straight victory on Friday night, when the lowly Sacramento Kings came to town. In their previous three outings, the Timberwolves have beaten the Kings 144-117 and the Utah Jazz twice, 137-97 and 120-113.
Frankly, the Timberwolves haven’t been tested properly since they lost at the New York Knicks 137-114 on November 5. Anthony Edwards leads the way for Minnesota with 27.1 points per game, while Julius Randle tallies 25.4 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 6.2 assists per contest.
The T-Wolves score 121.0 points per 100 possessions (4th in the NBA) and surrender 115.5 points in return ( tied for 17th). They rank second in the league in 3-point percentage (40.6%), fifth in 2-point percentage (57.3%), and 17th in free-throw percentage (78.8%).

However, the Timberwolves missed Anthony Edwards, which was a huge blow, especially on the offensive side of the ball. With Edwards in the lineup, Minnesota is a completely different team, and I expect the Timberwolves to get revenge. Of course, they will have to bring their best defense and slow Nikola Jokic down. Jokic posted a triple-double of 25 points, 19 rebounds, and 10 assists at Target Center last month.
The Timberwolves should play better defense this time around. As I mentioned in the intro, Minnesota has dominated Denver lately. The Timberwolves are 6-1 SU and 5-2 ATS in their previous seven dates with the Nuggets.

Neither team plays at a fast pace. However, their offensive execution has been outstanding this season, so I will take the over on the total. I expect Minnesota to play better on both sides of the ball than it did against Denver in October.
The Nuggets take good care of the ball and don’t force a lot of turnovers. Denver leads the NBA in opposing 3-point percentage (31.7%), and the Nuggets’ 3-point defense will be properly tested in this game. The over has hit in four of the previous five encounters between the Nuggets and Timberwolves.
