The Denver Nuggets head to Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, CA, on Tuesday night to square off against the Sacramento Kings in the Western Conference showdown with the tip-off at 11:00 PM ET, so we have prepared the Nuggets vs. Kings prediction to get you covered.
Denver meets Sacramento for the second time this season. Last week, the Nuggets outlasted the Kings 130-124 as 11.5-point home favorites, and the game flew over the 237-point line. Denver is now undefeated in six straight meetings with Sacramento.
The Nuggets listed Jamal Murray (calf) and Aaron Gordon (hamstring) as questionable, while the Kings are without Keegan Murray (thumb). Now, let’s take a closer look at this Nuggets vs. Kings prediction, one of our NBA picks for Tuesday’s card.
The Nuggets shoot for their fifth straight W
The Denver Nuggets (7-2; 6-3 ATS; 5-4 O/U) just finished their four-game homestand with a 4-0 SU and 3-1 ATS record. After failing to cover in that six-point victory over the Kings, the Nuggets have beaten the number against the Miami Heat 122-112, the Golden State Warriors 129-104, and the Indiana Pacers 117-100.

Last Saturday, the Nuggets cruised past the Pacers despite missing both Jamal Murray and Aaron Gordon. Nikola Jokic went off for another triple-double, notching 32 points, 14 rebounds, and 14 assists in 32 minutes on the floor, while Tim Hardaway Jr. added 17 points and four assists off the bench.
Jokic has amassed six triple-doubles over his first nine outings this season. He’s tallying 25.2 points, 13.0 rebounds, and 11.9 assists per game while making 64.4% of his field-goal attempts. The Nuggets boast the third-best offensive rating (122.7 points per 100 possessions) and the second-best defensive rating (109.7) in the NBA.
The Kings hope to avoid the third straight L
The Sacramento Kings (3-7; 4-6 ATS; 7-3 O/U) outlasted the shorthanded Golden State Warriors 121-116 this past Wednesday, covering a 3.5-point spread at Golden 1 Center. Since then, the Kings have dropped consecutive home games against the Oklahoma City Thunder 132-101 and the Minnesota Timberwolves 144-117.
Last Sunday, the Kings’ defense fell apart once more. The Timberwolves were scoring at will while leading by as many as 32 points. The Kings shot just 44.4% from the field (13-for-29 from deep) and committed 18 turnovers. Zach LaVine led the way with 26 points, while Domantas Sabonis had 20 points and 13 rebounds. Sabonis is listed as questionable with a rib contusion.
LaVine is the Kings’ leading scorer with 25.2 points per game. Sacramento tallies 112.4 points per 100 possessions (23rd in the NBA) and allows a staggering 120.7 points in return (27th). The Kings’ defense ranks 29th in 2-point percentage (60.2%) and 19th in 3-point percentage (36.2%).
Nuggets vs. Kings Pick
Spread Pick for Nuggets vs. Kings
- Denver Nuggets (4 units)
The Kings managed to cover the spread at Ball Arena in Denver eight days ago. However, it was a lousy defensive display from the Kings, and the Nuggets didn’t have too many problems beating Sacramento. Denver committed just eight turnovers while handing out 33 assists.
Nikola Jokic tortured the Kings for 34 points and 14 assists. He went 14-for-22 from the field (4-for-10 from deep). Last season, Jokic averaged 24.3 points, 15.8 rebounds, and 11.8 assists against the Kings. If you like player props, keep your eyes on Jokic.
I expect Jamal Murray and Aaron Gordon to return. The Nuggets didn’t need them to beat the lowly Pacers last Saturday. Denver should dominate the Kings’ defense once more and hopefully beat the number this time around.
Over/Under Pick for Nuggets vs. Kings
- Over (4 units)
As I mentioned a few times, the Kings’ defense has been awful so far this season. Sacramento just gave up 144 points to Minnesota, and given the way the Kings have been playing, the Nuggets could easily hit a 140-point mark on Tuesday night.
The Kings play fast, tallying 102.6 possessions per 48 minutes (4th in the NBA). The Nuggets register 100.1 possessions per 48 minutes (tied for 18th), and they won’t hesitate to push the ball in transition whenever they can.
Each of the last five encounters between Denver and Sacramento at Golden 1 Center has gone over the total. I will ride this betting trend.
