Pistons Have Won 12 In A Row

At 14-2 on the season, Detroit extended its dominance with a 129-116 win over Milwaukee on November 23, marking their 12th straight victory. Cade Cunningham nearly posted a triple-double with 29 points, 10 assists, and eight rebounds, while Jalen Duren added 19 points and Tobias Harris chipped in 18. Duncan Robinson knocked down five threes for 15 points, and Jaden Ivey returned to action with 10 off the bench. The Pistons shot a blistering 62.8% from the field and 16-of-30 from three, building a 29-point lead in the third quarter before cruising to the finish.

Detroit’s offense has been one of the most efficient in the league, averaging 119.5 points per game on 48.9% shooting, ranking top ten in both categories. Cunningham has been the engine, averaging 27.4 points and 9.9 assists, while Duren provides a powerful inside presence with 20.5 points and 11.5 rebounds per game. Tobias Harris and Duncan Robinson stretch defenses with perimeter shooting, and Ausar Thompson adds versatility with 12.6 points and nearly two steals per game. The Pistons rebound well, ranking eighth in boards, and their ability to push tempo after securing the glass has fueled their offensive surge.

Defensively, Detroit has been just as strong, allowing 112.4 points per game while holding opponents to 44.4% shooting. Their length and athleticism across the roster make them tough to score against, with Stewart and Thompson providing rim protection and Cunningham disrupting passing lanes. The Pistons rank top five in defensive efficiency, and their ability to contest shots while still running the floor has made them one of the most complete teams in the NBA. Against Indiana, their challenge will be slowing down Pascal Siakam and Andrew Nembhard without losing their offensive rhythm.

The Rough Start Continues For The Pacers

The Pacers fell to 2-14 after a 120-109 loss to Cleveland on November 21, where Donovan Mitchell’s 32 points carried the Cavaliers past Indiana. Andrew Nembhard was the bright spot for the Pacers, scoring 32 points with eight assists, while Pascal Siakam added 26 points and nine rebounds. Bennedict Mathurin chipped in 19, but Indiana’s defense couldn’t contain Cleveland’s third-quarter surge, as the Cavs outscored them 38-26 in that frame to pull away. It was another tough outing for a Pacers team that has struggled to find consistency early in the season.

Offensively, Indiana averages 110.1 points per game but has shot just 41.1% from the field and 30.7% from three, ranking near the bottom of the league. Siakam has been the focal point, averaging 24.8 points and 7 rebounds, while Nembhard has stepped up with 19 points and 6.4 assists per game. Mathurin has been explosive in limited action, scoring 26.4 points per game, and Aaron Nesmith adds 15.5 points with solid perimeter shooting. The Pacers rebound well, ranking fifth overall, but their lack of efficiency has kept them from capitalizing on second-chance opportunities.

Defensively, Indiana has struggled mightily, giving up 122.9 points per game and allowing opponents to shoot 48.2% from the field. While they’ve been decent at defending the three-point line at 32.5% allowed, their inability to protect the rim has been costly. Siakam and Jackson provide some interior presence, but the Pacers often get outmuscled on second-chance opportunities, ranking 27th in defensive rebounding. Against Detroit, Indiana will need to tighten rotations and find ways to slow down Cunningham and Duren, or else they risk getting run off the floor by one of the league’s most efficient offenses.

Pistons vs Pacers Spread Pick

  • Detroit -9.5 (5 Units)

Detroit -9.5 feels like the right side given how dominant the Pistons have been on both ends of the floor. Cade Cunningham is playing at an MVP level, averaging nearly 28 points and 10 assists per game, while Jalen Duren has been a force inside with 20 points and 11 boards. The Pistons are top ten in scoring at 119.5 points per game and shoot almost 49% from the field, which makes them one of the most efficient offenses in the league. With Tobias Harris and Duncan Robinson spacing the floor and Ausar Thompson adding defensive versatility, Detroit has the depth to overwhelm Indiana’s shaky defense.

On the other side, the Pacers have struggled to keep opponents in check, giving up 122.9 points per game and ranking near the bottom in defensive efficiency. Even with Pascal Siakam and Andrew Nembhard producing offensively, Indiana’s lack of rim protection and inconsistent shooting (just 41% from the field) makes it hard to see them keeping pace. Detroit’s rebounding edge and ability to push tempo after stops should create separation, and if Cunningham controls the game as he has all season, the Pistons have more than enough firepower to cover the 9.5-point spread.

Pistons vs Pacers Over/Under Pick

  • Under 235 (4 Units)

The Under 235 looks appealing because Detroit has been efficient offensively but also ranks top five in defensive metrics, holding opponents to just 112.4 points per game on 44.4% shooting. Indiana, meanwhile, averages only 110.1 points per game and has struggled with consistency from the field at 41% overall and 31% from three. Both teams rebound well, which limits second-chance scoring, and while the Pistons can push tempo, their defense should keep the Pacers from turning this into a shootout. With Detroit’s ability to control pace and Indiana’s offensive inefficiency, the total projects to stay below 235.
