Warriors sacrifice game against OKC to beat Utah
The Golden State Warriors are an aging team with most of their key players in their mid-30s, so they often feel the need to rest key players during back-to-back games. They did that again on Friday when they were crushed at home by OKC 131-94. Draymond Green, Steph Curry and Jimmy Butler all sat in that game for various reasons and predictably, the Warriors were annihilated.
On Saturday against Utah, those players returned, and they beat the Jazz, 123-114, as 12.5-point favorites. Curry led the way with 31 points on 6-of-12 from long range, while Butler added 15 points and seven assists.
The Warriors are playing pretty good basketball, winning six of their last eight games with the only other loss at Toronto (141-127) in overtime on Dec. 28 in that span. Curry is still a superstar at 37, averaging 28.8 points and 4.3 assists, while shooting 39.8% from long range, while Butler adds 19.5 points and 5.0 assists.

Brown dominates the Clippers on Saturday
Jaylen Brown has quietly taken over Jayson Tatum in Boston and, in a lot of ways, is a healthier Kawhi Leonard. Brown was magnificent on both ends of the floor with 50 points on 18-of-26 shooting to lead Boston over the Clippers on the road. He also helped slow red-hot Leonard, holding him to 22 points on 6-of-17 shooting. However, the Clippers are starting to get healthier, and it's shown in winning six of their last seven games.
Leonard was named the "claw" for a reason. Part of it is due to his huge hands, but also due to his defensive ability. Leonard (34 years old) has been one of the few bright spots for another aging team in the Pacific Division. He's averaging 28.3 points per game and 6.3 rebounds, while playing in 24 of their 34 games. Leonard has played 60 games or more in just two of his last seven seasons, coming into this season. At 36, Harden has also been productive in 32 games, averaging 25.7 points per game and eight assists, but is shooting just 43.3% from the field and 35.8% from long range.
The Clippers lost Brady Beal (hip) for the season on Nov. 12 and wing Bogdan Bogdanovic (hamstring) has played in just 16 games, averaging 8.0 points.

Golden State is just 8-12 on the road, while the Clippers are 8-9 at home, compared to 4-13 on the road. The Clippers are also the hotter team.
