Warriors are mediocre
Golden State has won four championships in the Steph Curry era, with the last coming in 2022. As long as they have Curry, they'll be dangerous, but they don't appear to be a contender with Curry and Jimmy Butler leading the way. Curry had 39 points on 14-of-28 shooting in their loss to the T-Wolves, but he received little help from Butler (15pts, 8regs, 5asts) and the others.
Curry is averaging 27.9 points and 4.0 assists, while shooting 47.1% from the field and 39.1% from beyond the arc. Butler adds 19.5 points and 5.0 assists. Draymond Green leads the team with 5.5 assists, but is questionable with a foot injury.
According to DunksandThree.scom, Golden State is 11th in Adjusted Net Rating, 20th in Adjusted Offense and 3rd in Adjusted Defense.

Key Injury Report:
- F Draymond Green (foot) is questionable.
- C Al Horford (back) is questionable.
Portland has talent, but has too many players out with injuries
Portland's injury list includes G Jrue Holiday (calf), C Donovan Clingan (leg), G Scoot Henderson (hamstring), C Robert Williams III (illness), to name a few. It's tough to get into any kind of rhythm when half of the players in your rotation are out for some reason. The Trail Blazers have now lost three straight, including falling to a bad New Orleans team 143-120 on Friday night as a 4-point favorite on the road. They've also lost six of their last seven games.
There is some good news as Clingan and Williams III are both expected to play on Sunday. While injuries have hampered the team, G/F Deni Avdija has shone in all 25 games with 25.4 points per game, 7.2 rebounds and 6.2 assists while shooting 47.3% from the field (37.4% 3pt). Guard Shaedon Sharpe adds 21.1 points and shoots 44.4% from the field (28.3% 3pt).
According to DunksandThrees.com, Portland ranks 20th in Net Ratings, 16th in Adjusted Offense and 18th in Adjusted Defense.
Key Injury Report for Trail Blazers:
- G Scoot Henderson (hamstring) is out.
- G Jure Holiday (calf) is out.
Spread Pick for Warriors vs. Trail Blazers
Golden State Warriors vs. Portland Trail Blazers Pick and Prediction
- Portland +4.5 (4 units)
There is talent on this Portland team and they could have been at least a play-in team had they been healthy. They are also in rebuild mode with a young team that will probably try and add another draft pick before the February trade deadline. Getting back Clingan and Williams will be huge for the boards and protecting the paint. They were crushed on the boards in their last game by 16 against the Pelicans as they've been forced to play forwards at center, including Kris Murray (6-8, 218). Portland has also won both meetings this season so they do match up well against them.
Over/Under Warriors vs. Trail Blazers
- Over 234.5 (4 units)
Portland plays the No. 3 pace in the NBA, while Golden State is at 20th, but they still like to run when possible. With Curry on the floor and when he gets hot, he can carry a team's offense. These teams have faced each other twice this season and both games went over. Four of the last five meetings have gone over.
