Can Knicks get back on track on the road?

New York (2-2 SU, 2-2 ATS, and 2-2 O/U) lost 121-111 to Milwaukee on Tuesday. The Knicks also lost their previous game 115-107 to Miami.

The Knicks were outplayed by the Bucks in their last game, as the home team shot 54 percent from the field, 41 percent from three-point distance, and 87 percent at the charity stripe. Giannis Antetokounmpo continued his dominant play, scoring 37 points with eight rebounds and seven assists. New York's Jalen Brunson had 36 points, but the Knicks shot just 42 percent as a team, including 32 percent from beyond the arc.

NY stumbled in the second half against the Heat, as they were outscored 23-6 after taking a one-point lead late in the third quarter. The Knicks had forced their way to the free-throw line often in their first two games (61-33 advantage), but Miami flipped the script with a 31-21 edge on Sunday. New York shot just 38 percent, including 27 percent from three, and was outscored 31-10 in fast break points.

New York should be one of the league's top teams again this season. The Knicks went 51-31 in 2024-25, finishing third in the East's regular season standings and advancing to the EC Finals. The Clutch Player of the Year, Jalen Brunson, averaged 26.0 points and 7.3 dimes, and Karl-Anthony Towns earned his fifth All-Star selection, but New York played team basketball, with OG Anunoby, Mikal Bridges, and Josh Hart also performing at a high level. The Knicks' core is hungry for an NBA Championship, and they appear well-positioned to make another deep run in the postseason.

Chicago is off to a surprising 4-0 start

Chicago (4-0 SU, 4-0 ATS, and 2-2 O/U) defeated Sacramento 126-113 on Wednesday, its third home win of the season.

The Bulls won a whipsaw game against the Kings, as both teams led by double digits and shot over 50 percent from the field. While the teams combined for 130 points in the paint, Chicago was on target from three-point range (14-for-32), while Sacramento struggled to hit the target (7-for-28). The home team also dominated on the boards, outrebounding the visitors 46-31.

Chicago's previous game against Atlanta was a similar story, as both teams shot over 50 percent and led by double digits, scoring 130 combined points in the paint. While the Bulls didn't shoot a much higher percentage from long range than the Hawks, they attempted 11 more threes, making five. They were similarly unstoppable on the glass, with a 51-36 rebounding advantage.

Chicago is one of the youngest teams in the NBA, as its core group is all 25 years or younger. The up-and-comers will look to improve on last season's 39-43 regular-season record and Play-In Tournament berth, building off their strong finish down the stretch (won 15 of their final 20 games). After trading away veteran guard Zach LaVine mid-season, the Bulls embraced Josh Giddey, Matas Buzelis, and Coby White as their new headliners. They aren't the only significant pieces to the puzzle, though. Nikola VučeviΔ‡ (18.5 PPG), Kevin Huerter (13.2 PPG), and Ayo Dosunmu (12.3 PPG) are back, along with Tre Jones, who averaged 11.5 PPG and 4.9 APG after he was acquired from San Antonio last season. With the 12th overall pick, Noa Essengue, joining that group, Chicago has a quality roster capable of making noise in the Eastern Conference.

Knicks vs. Bulls Pick and Preview

Spread Pick for Knicks vs. Bulls

  • Chicago Bulls +4 (5 Units)

Despite missing White, Chicago hasn't shied away from the competition through four games, taking down three potential Eastern Conference playoff teams. New York was locked in for its first two games, but wasn't as sharp in its recent losses to Miami and Milwaukee. The Knicks have their own injury concerns, too. Brunson was banged up in the fourth quarter vs the Bucks, Towns has been playing through a quad injury, and Hart has played limited minutes after sitting out the last four preseason games with lower back spasms. Chicago has shot the ball well from beyond the arc, and the way it has been rebounding the ball and scoring in the paint, New York is in for a battle.

Over/Under Pick for Knicks vs. Bulls

  • Under 236 (4 Units)

The Knicks aren't likely to be sped up by the Bulls. They prefer a slow tempo, averaging the fifth-longest offensive possession length in the league. New York leads the NBA in opponent offensive rebounding percentage and ranks third in defensive rating. Chicago is also tough to box out, holding their opponents to the fourth-lowest offensive rebounding rate. With both teams dealing with several injuries, they will be slogging away in a competitive, well-contested game.
