Miami Heat at New York Knicks Picks and Prediction for Friday, November 14, 2025

Heats vs Knicks picks

The New York Knicks (7-4) will host the Miami Heat (7-5) on Friday at Madison Square Garden in NBA Cup Group Play. Miami won the first meeting 115-107 at home, and these teams will see each other again on Monday, but tonight carries more weight as both sides try to secure a stronger position in the group.

Heat’s style of play is very different from the past

The Heat are looking to respond after a 130-116 loss to Cleveland on Wednesday. For this NBA Cup meeting, Miami brings one of the most explosive offenses in the league. The Heat rank first in scoring at 124.8 points per game, and seventh in field goal percentage at 49.5 percent. On defense, the Heat allow 120.8 points per game, ranking 21st.

Norman Powell has been their top scorer at 24.8 points per game, while Bam Adebayo continues to anchor the interior with 19.9 points and 8.1 rebounds, and Andrew Wiggins (17.8 ppg) and Jaime Jaquez Jr. (17 ppg) have delivered steady production on the wings. Adebayo, however, has been hampered by a toe injury. Daivon Mitchell leads the team with 7.3 assists, and Kel'el Ware adds 10.5 ppg and 9.2 rpg.

Key Injury Report for Heat

  • C Ban Adebayo (toe) is out.
  • G Tyler Herro (foot/ankle) is out

Knicks coming off first home loss

New York had been perfect at home before Wednesday’s 124-107 loss to Orlando, a setback that snapped both their five-game winning streak and 7-0 start at Madison Square Garden.

The Knicks average 120.5 points per game and rank seventh in three-point shooting and third in free-throw percentage. Jalen Brunson continues to lead the offense with 28.0 points and 6.5 assists. However, he's dealing with a sprained ankle and could be out for a while. Karl-Anthony Towns has been dominant, averaging 20.2 points and 12.6 rebounds, and his ability to score inside and out adds versatility to the offense.

New York ranks eighth in scoring defense at 113.8 points allowed per game and remains one of the better rebounding teams in the league. Their biggest weakness continues to be perimeter defense, where they rank 26th in opponent three-point percentage.

Miami Heat vs New York Knicks Predictions

ATS Picks for Heats vs. Knicks:

  • Knicks -5.5 (4 units)

The Knicks opened the season 7-0 ATS at home before the loss to Orlando, but this should be a complete focus spot with the NBA Cup stage set at Madison Square Garden. With no Adebayo, KAT should take care of business in the paint and on the perimeter. Mikal Bridges is capable of stepping up scoring-wise and Landry Shamet and Jordan Clarkson can replace Brunson at the point for the short term. The Heat are just 2-4 on the road this season, and if they get slowed down, they will likely struggle to score in their half-court offense. New York is the more consistent team on both ends, and I will back them here.

Total Picks:

  • Over 235.5 (5 units)

The over is the only way I can look at this total. Miami ranks first in pace and scoring and sits inside the top 10 in three-point shooting. The Heat’s up-tempo style has been fun to watch, but it also creates extra possessions and plenty of scoring opportunities for the opponent, which plays right into New York’s strengths.

The Knicks are also a top-10 team from beyond the arc, and while they do not play as fast, they have scored at least 128 points in four of their last six games. With Miami pushing the tempo and New York’s offense rolling, this matchup sets up for plenty of buckets at the Garden.
