Milwaukee Makes Headlines
The Milwaukee Bucks are currently the top story on ESPN.com, but not for a reason they would like to see. The story is all about the Bucks finding a potential trade partner for Giannis Antetokoumpo, as it does not look like the franchise will be able to resign their star player at the end of his contract. Milwaukee is currently 12th in the East, and 3.5-games out of the final playoff spot. In their last game, the Bucks got 31 points from Myles Turner in their loss to the 76ers.
Giannis is not likely to play here, as he has been battling a calf injury and has told reporters that he is ready for a new home. This leaves Milwaukee with Kevin Porter Jr. as their leading scorer, but the young shooting guard is also out with an injury. The top scoring Buck on the floor with be Ryan Rollins, who was never expected to lead an NBA team, but has shown strong signs while averaging 16.3 PPG and 5.4 APG as a 23-year old point guard out of Toledo. Bobby Portis has shifted back into the starting lineup, and brings 13.2 PPG and 6.6 RPG.
Myles Turner was a high profile offseason signing, the 29-year old center was pulled away from Indiana and is getting 12.8 PPG and 5.3 RPG, but showed he can put up big numbers in his recent 31-point game. The Bucks rank 22nd in both offensive and defensive efficiency according to dunksandthrees.com. Milwaukee ranks 25th in the league in possessions per game, playing at a slow pace.

Wizards Snap Nine Game Skid
The Washington Wizards were recently on a nine game losing streak, until they were finally able to scratch out a win against Portland. The Wizards are in the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings, and clearly in rebuild mode, but their fans are starting to get anxious as their rebuild has been taking years. In their last game, Washington was led by Alex Sarr with 29 points and 12 rebounds in their win over the Blazers.
Alex Sarr is the former number two overall pick, drafted behind Zaccharie Risacher in one of the weakest drafts in NBA history. Thankfully for Washington, the book on Sarr is not finished, as the 20-year old still has plenty of time to improve. Sarr is a 7-footer who is averaging 17.7 PPG and 7.5 RPG, but is listed as questionable here with an illness. Kyshawn George should be available, he is a 6'8 guard out of Miami who is bringing another 15.6 PPG with a strong floor game including 5.9 RPG and 5.1 APG. Tre Johnson is not in Rookie of the Year talks, but he could make one of the All-Rookie teams, as he is averaging 13.1 PPG.
Khris Middleton is a veteran guard, who will be taking on his former team, and is scoring 10.1 PPG. Bilal Coulibaly should be back in the lineup with his 9.9 PPG as a 6'7 wing. Washington is ranked 30th in offensive efficiency and 27th in defensive efficiency. The Wizards play faster than the Bucks, ranking 9th in the league in possessions per game.

Spread pick for Bucks vs. Wizards
- Wizards +3 (5 units)
This Milwaukee team is a mess. No team with Giannis in his prime should be 12th in the East, but that is where the Bucks find themselves, and there is a chance he never wears a Milwaukee uniform again. This is a massive distraction for the Bucks, who all of a sudden find Ryan Rollins as their top scorer, and hope they can find enough production from role players to keep games close. This Washington team has a different mindset, they are full of young and up and coming players in the league, who are all looking to make a name for themselves. Alex Sarr will be the best player on the floor here, and is coming off a strong showing in the win over Portland. The Wizards take care of business against a struggling Milwaukee team.
Take the Wizards to cover.
Over/Under Pick for Bucks vs. Wizards
- Β Over 224 (4 units)
Giannis will not play in this game, and while that takes points off the board, it also will allow Washington to score more easily at the rim while the Bucks get points from their role players. The Bucks are coming off an over in their last game against Philly, and will hit another over here as they need to speed up their offense without Giannis. The Greek Freak could score on isolations in the half court, but without him, they will speed the game up hoping to find easy looks. The Wizards are a young group of ballers looking to push the tempo whether they win or lose. Expect a lot of points here.
Take the over.
