T-Wolves searching for an identity
Minnesota has lost two straight, both on the road, to Houston (110-105) on Friday and the Spurs (126-123) on Saturday. They had just beaten the Spurs at home 104-103 on Jan. 11 and were coming off winning six of the last seven before losing two straight. In Saturday's loss to San Antonio, Anthony Edwards had a career-high 55 points, making 19 of 33 from the field and 9 of 16 from three-point range. Victor Wembanyama led the Spurs with 39 points and had his way in the paint with Naz Reid playing just five minutes due to a shoulder injury and Rudy Gobert (hip) missing the game.
Gobert and Reid are both listed as day-to-day. Without those players, Minnesota is very thin up front. Rookie Joan Beringer (6-11, 230) played 23 minutes on Saturday and scored 10 points, while grabbing eight boards. Edwards leads the T-Wolves with 29.6 points per game on 50.4% shooting and 41.8% from long range. Julius Randle adds 22.5 points per game, 7.1 rebounds, and 5.5 assists.
According to DunksandThrees.com, Minnesota is ranked seventh in Adjusted Net Rating, ninth in Adjusted Offense and 10th in Adjusted Defense.

Jazz finally return home
Utah has spent eight of nine games in 2026 on the road. Unfortunately, their only home game in 2026 came against Charlotte on Jan. 10, and they were annihilated 150-95. They followed that horrific loss with a 123-112 win over Cleveland two days later. But since then, have lost by two points at Chicago and then lost at Dallas twice on Jan. 15 and Jan. 17. In their last loss to the Mavs came on Saturday, 138-120, with Dallas shooting 54% from the field and 44% from long range.
Keyonte George led the Jazz with 29 points against the Mavs, while leading scorer Lauri Markkanen (27.9 ppg, 7.2 rpg) missed both games due to illness, and was also out against the Spurs on Monday night. George adds 23.8 points and 6.8 assists per game.
According to DunksandThrees.com, Utah is ranked 28th in Adjusted Net Rating, 15th in Adjusted Offense and 30th in Adjusted Defense. Utha is last in the NBA in points allowed per game (127.6), last in field goal defense (49.4%), and 29th in three-point defense (37.7%).

Timberwolves vs. Jazz Odds, Picks and Prediction
- Minnesota to cover (4 units)
There's a four-letter word to describe Utah's season and it begins with "T" and ends with "K". Who knows which key players will come up with "illnesses" for the Jazz, who are not even being subtle about their goals of trying to lose to get a top-five pick. Minnesota has extra rest, while the Jazz just faced the powerhouse Spurs. Even with Markkanen, the Jazz are a horrible defensive team and were bad with him on the floor. Minnesota will get back on track with an easy road win over a bad and tired Jazz squad with or without Markkanen.
Over/Under Picks for T-Wolves vs. Jazz
- Over (4 units)
Utah just allowed an average of 133.3 points per game in their last four road games. The Jazz also want to run as they rank third in the league in pace of play. Minnesota is 11th in pace of play and they also rank first in points per game at 124 ppg on the road and third overall (120 ppg). Utah allows 127.6 points per game overall to rank last and they are even worse at home, giving up 129.7 points per contest. They've gone over in three of their last four games.
