NBA Best Bet #1 - Celtics Bounce Back
Boston heads to Madison Square Garden tonight catching +3.5 against the Knicks, and the Celtics’ depth and defensive versatility make them a strong underdog play. Despite a tough 117–116 loss to Philadelphia in their opener, Boston showed plenty of upside with Jaylen Brown and Derrick White combining for 50 points, while Neemias Queta and Payton Pritchard added efficient scoring off the bench. Even without Jayson Tatum (Achilles) and Luka Garza (concussion protocol), the Celtics still have the length and switchability to disrupt New York’s half‑court offense. Boston swept the Knicks 4–0 last season and went 33–8 on the road, including 14–2 in Atlantic Division play.
New York opened with a solid 119–111 win over Cleveland, but they enter tonight’s game banged up. Karl‑Anthony Towns (quad), Josh Hart (back), and OG Anunoby (ankle) are all listed as questionable, while Mitchell Robinson is out. That leaves Jalen Brunson and Julius Randle to carry the load against a Celtics team that ranked top‑five in defensive efficiency last season. Boston’s ability to stretch the floor and force mismatches should test the Knicks’ depth, especially if Towns and Anunoby are limited. With Boston’s track record in this matchup and their ability to generate offense from multiple spots, grabbing the +3.5 offers solid value in this Eastern Conference showdown.

- Boston +3.5
NBA Best Bet #2 - Heat/Memphis Bring The Defense
The Heat and Grizzlies meet at FedExForum with the total set at 233, and both teams’ current injury situations and roster dynamics point toward the under. Miami is without Tyler Herro, Terry Rozier, and rookie Kasparas Jakucionis, leaving Norman Powell and Andrew Wiggins to carry the scoring load. While Powell dropped 28 in the opener, the Heat committed 19 turnovers and lacked rhythm in a 125–121 loss to Orlando. Erik Spoelstra may lean more on Bam Adebayo and Kel’el Ware to slow the pace and control the paint, especially with limited perimeter firepower available.
Memphis opened with a 128–122 win over New Orleans but enters Friday night banged up. Ja Morant is questionable with ankle soreness, and the Grizzlies are already missing Zach Edey, Scotty Pippen Jr., Ty Jerome, and Brandon Clarke. If Morant sits, Jaren Jackson Jr. will take on a heavier offensive role, but Memphis’ scoring ceiling drops significantly. Both teams have shown defensive lapses, but with key scorers sidelined and depth concerns on both sides, the pace could slow and possessions become more deliberate. Add in the fact that Miami and Memphis are 6-1 to the under in their last seven Friday night games, and the under 233 is a well-supported angle in this matchup.
- Miami/Memphis Under 233
NBA Best Bet #3 - Portland Hands Warriors First Loss
Portland hosts Golden State tonight catching +1, and the spot strongly favors the Trail Blazers. The Warriors are coming off back-to-back emotional wins over the Lakers and Nuggets, with last night’s 137–131 overtime victory draining both legs and rotations. Stephen Curry logged 38 minutes and dropped 42 points, while Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green also played heavy minutes. With Al Horford sitting out and Moses Moody still questionable, Golden State’s depth will be tested on the second night of a road back-to-back against a rested Portland squad.
The Trail Blazers, meanwhile, are looking to bounce back from a fourth-quarter collapse against Minnesota, where they led most of the way before falling 118–114. Jerami Grant was electric off the bench with 29 points, and Deni Avdija added 20, giving Portland a versatile scoring punch. Interim coach Tiago Splitter takes over after Chauncey Billups’ sudden departure, and the team should rally with fresh legs and renewed focus. With Golden State in a letdown spot and Portland showing offensive upside, grabbing the +1 at home is a sharp play in this Western Conference matchup.
