The 2025-26 NBA season continues Wednesday, January 28, with the New York Knicks taking on the Toronto Raptors in the Atlantic Division showdown at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, ON, so we’ve prepared the Knicks vs. Raptors prediction to get you covered.
New York meets Toronto for the third time this season, and the Knicks shoot for their sixth consecutive SU and ATS victory over the Raptors. The Knicks are undefeated in 10 straight dates with the Raptors, who have beaten the number just once during that stretch.
Let’s take a closer look at this Knicks vs. Raptors prediction, one of our NBA picks for Wednesday’s nine-game card. The tip-off at Scotiabank Arena is set at 7:30 PM ET.
The Knicks play without rest
Tuesday’s games have been excluded from the analysis, and the New York Knicks hosted the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday night, looking for their third straight victory. After stopping their four-game slide with a 120-66 dismantling of the Brooklyn Nets, the Knicks outlasted the Philadelphia 76ers 112-109 this past Saturday.

The Knicks managed to beat the 76ers despite making just 44.1% of their field goals (15-for-44 from deep) and 15 of their 27 shots from the foul line. New York allowed nine 3-pointers and outrebounded Philadelphia 53-37 on the afternoon. Jalen Brunson led the way for the Knicks with 31 points, six assists, and five rebounds.
Brunson averages 28.0 points and 6.1 assists, while Karl-Anthony Towns tallies 20.5 points and 11.4 rebounds per game. The Knicks were fourth in the Eastern Conference on Tuesday morning, half a game behind the Raptors. New York ranked third in the NBA in adjusted offensive efficiency (120.1 points per 100 possessions) and 17th in adjusted defensive efficiency (115.8).
The Raptors eye their fifth straight W
The Toronto Raptors just finished their five-game road trip with a 4-1 SU and ATS record. After a 110-93 defeat at the Los Angeles Lakers, the Raptors strung four consecutive SU and ATS wins over the Golden State Warriors 145-127, the Sacramento Kings 122-109, the Portland Trail Blazers 110-98, and the Oklahoma City Thunder 103-101.
Last Sunday, the Raptors outlasted the Thunder as 11.5-point underdogs. Toronto overcame a six-point deficit in the final seven minutes while holding the reigning NBA champs to 20 fourth-quarter points. The Raptors outrebounded the Thunder 51-37 on the night, and Immanuel Quickley led the charge with 23 points and 11 rebounds.
Toronto is now one game behind the No. 2 seed in the East. The Raptors score 115.0 points per 100 possessions (tied for 17th in the NBA) and surrender 112.9 points in return (tied for 5th). They cannot count on Jakob Poeltl (9.7 PPG, 7.7 RPG), while rookie Collin Murray-Boyles (7.8 PPG, 5.1 RPG) is questionable for Wednesday’s clash against New York.
Knicks vs. Raptors Pick
Spread Pick for Knicks vs. Raptors
- Toronto Raptors (4 units)
The Raptors must be fired up to finally beat the Knicks. Toronto hasn’t beaten New York since January 22, 2023, and this looks like a perfect spot for the Raptors. The Knicks will have to deal with fatigue on the second night of a back-to-back set, whereas Toronto had two days to rest and prepare for this game. New York is 1-4 SU and ATS in its last four showings on the second night of a back-to-back.
The last time they met, New York beat Toronto 117-101 as a 6.5-point road fave. The Knicks shot 52.5% from the field (16-for-35 from deep), while the Raptors made just 43.3% of their field goals (11-for-38 from deep).
I expect a much better display from the Raptors this time around. They are on a four-game winning streak, and over their previous three outings, the Raptors have only allowed 308 points. Toronto leans on its defense, which ranks second in the NBA in 3-point percentage (34.1%). On the other side, the Knicks are 26th in opposing 3-point percentage (37.2%).
Over/Under Pick for Knicks vs. Raptors
- Under (4 units)
Both New York and Toronto are in the bottom eight in the league in pace. The Knicks rely on 3-pointers a lot, making 37.6% of their shots from deep, but as I noted, the Raptors’ 3-point defense is one of the best in the NBA.
Hereof, I will take the under. The Raptors are 24th in the league in 3-point rate (.376) and 25th in 3-point percentage (34.3%). They need to bring their best defense in order to beat the Knicks. The under is 5-3 in Toronto’s last eight games overall, and it is 6-4 in the Raptors’ last 10 outings at home.
Both teams take good care of the ball and are solid on the defensive glass. I don’t expect a lot of running up and down the floor in this game.
