Oklahoma City Finishes Road Trip
The Oklahoma City Thunder will play their fourth straight game on the road when they suit up in Memphis, closing out a four-game road trip against Western Conference opponents. They won two of the three games, defeating the Clippers and Kings, but suffered their first loss of the season against the Trail Blazers. Their most recent game was their big victory over Sacramento, when they were led by Isaiah Hartenstein with 33 points and 19 rebounds.
Hartenstein is their well-traveled big man who put up one of the best performances of his career against the Kings. He has played for the Rockets, Nuggets, Cavaliers, Clippers and Knicks all before coming to Oklahoma City. This season, he is leading OKC in rebounds with 11.7 per game, while adding 12.9 PPG. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is following up last year's MVP campaign and has helped lead the Thunder to a 9-1 start on the season. SGA is averaging 33.0 PPG, 6.0 RPG and 5.0 APG through the first ten games. Chet Holmgren has been their second leading scorer, getting 18.8 PPG and 8.8 RPG while continually improving his perimeter game.
The OKC Thunder are still waiting for Jalen Williams to return, and have gotten strong production from his replacements as Ajay Mitchell is averaging 16.8 PPG and Isaiah Joe is adding another 16.6 per game. Oklahoma City ranks 5th in offensive efficiency and 1st in defensive efficiency according to dunksandthrees.com. The Thunder rank 6th in the league in possessions per game.

Grizzlies Snap Four-Game Skid
The Memphis Grizzlies have been dealing with drama surrounding the relationship between Ja Morant and the coaching staff, which may have played a role in their recent four-game losing streak. Memphis fell against the Lakers, Raptors, Pistons and Rockets before they were finally able to take down the Mavericks on Friday night. In their win over Dallas, Memphis was led by their rookie off the bench as Cedric Coward had 21 points and nine rebounds in the win.
Coward has been one of the top rookies this season after being selected 11th overall in the draft. The 22-year-old was not a well-known prospect, but is already the third leading scorer in Memphis without ever starting a game for the Grizz. Coward is getting 15.5 PPG as a 6'5 small forward. Ja Morant can still be counted on to put up numbers, as he leads the team with 20.2 PPG and 7.9 APG. Morant served a one-game suspension for conduct detrimental to the team, but will be in the lineup for this matchup against OKC. Jaren Jackson Jr. is their top interior player; he is getting 17.0 PPG and 5.3 RPG as an inside-out player.
Memphis has two more scorers averaging double figures, as Santi Aldama gets 12.0 PPG off the bench, and Jock Landale is scoring 11.0 PPG as their starting center. The Grizzlies rank 15th in offensive efficiency and 16th in defensive efficiency. Memphis ranks 9th in the league in pace of play based on their possessions per game.

Thunder vs. Grizzlies Picks and Predictions
Spread pick for Thunder vs. Grizzlies
- Grizzlies +10.5 (5 units)
This is far too many points in this Western Conference battle, especially as the Thunder are still battling so many injuries. Jalen Williams is still out, which is not a big story as they have been playing without him all season, but there have been additional pieces added to the injury list recently. They could be without Lu Dort and Aaron Wiggins in this game; they are two of their best perimeter defenders and important rotational pieces. The Thunder cannot rely on Hartenstein going for 33 and 19 consistently, and Memphis will be able to focus all their defensive efforts on SGA. The Grizzlies finally shook off the stink of losing in their recent game against Dallas, and taking the double-digit points with the Grizz is the right play here.
Take Memphis with the points.
Over/Under Pick for Thunder vs. Grizzlies
- Under 235.5 (4 units)
These teams are both battling injuries to some of their top rotational players, which will help to limit the scoring here. Jalen Williams is out, as well as four important pieces for the Grizzlies, as these squads are still figuring out their new rotations. Memphis is at home and will want to play slow here. They are big underdogs, and do not want to get in a track meet with the Thunder, as Oklahoma City has far more scoring potential as the reigning champs. Expect Memphis to work the shot clock and lock in defensively in an effort to keep this game close late. The Grizz have gone under in five of their last six games, and will go under again here.
Take the under.
