Phoenix meets Portland for the first time this season. They split a four-game series in 2024-25, with each team emerging victorious on the home floor. Now, let’s take a closer look at this Suns vs. Blazers prediction, one of our NBA picks for Tuesday’s six-game card.
The Suns’ win streak is over
The Phoenix Suns (8-6; 9-5 ATS; 7-7 O/U) put an end to their five-game winning streak this past Sunday. They suffered a 124-122 home defeat to the Atlanta Hawks, blowing a 22-point lead. The Hawks outscored the Suns 47-27 in the fourth quarter.
The Suns’ defense collapsed after yielding just 103.0 points per game during their winning streak. Phoenix outrebounded Atlanta 47-34 while grabbing 16 offensive boards, but the Suns allowed 19 fast-break points and 29 points off turnovers.

Dillon Brooks tortured Atlanta for 34 points, while Devin Booker had 27 points and seven assists. Last Thursday, Brooks scored 32 points in a 133-98 thrashing of the lowly Indiana Pacers. Grayson Allen missed the Hawks game due to a quad injury, while Jalen Green is out with a hamstring injury.
Booker leads the Suns with 28.4 points per game and 7.0 assists per game. Brooks adds 22 points and 2.0 steals per game.
The Suns score 119.1 points per 100 possessions (6th in the NBA) and allow 114.7 points in return (13th). They rank sixth in the league in 3-point rate (.454) and seventh in 3-point percentage (38.2%).
Key Injury Report for Suns:
- G Grayson Allen (quad) is out. Avg. 18.5 points per game and 4.3 apg.
- G Jalen Green (hamstring) is out for 3-4 weeks.
The Trail Blazers look to snap a two-game skid
The Portland Trail Blazers (6-7; 6-6-1 ATS; 10-3 O/U) just finished their five-game road trip with a 1-4 SU and 0-4-1 ATS record. It’s been a rough patch for the interim head coach Tiago Splitter and his boys, who were yielding 129.2 points a night.
The Trail Blazers are coming off Sunday’s 138-133 overtime defeat against the Dallas Mavericks. Portland shot just 40.7% from the field (14-for-47 from deep). The Trail Blazers outrebounded the Mavs 53-47 while posting 22 offensive boards, but Dallas outscored Portland 62-56 in the paint.
Jrue Holiday sat out the Mavericks game with a calf injury. Shaedon Sharpe led the charge with 36 points and six assists, Deni Avdija had 29 points and seven dishes, and Jerami Grant added 26 points. Portland’s second unit scored just 15 points against Dallas. Avdija leads the team with 26 points per game, adding 6.5 rebounds and 4.8 assists on 37.5% three-point shooting. Sharpe adds 22.1 points per game and 5.2 rebounds per game.
The Trail Blazers score 117.4 points per 100 possessions (13th in the NBA) and surrender 118.0 points in return (22nd). They are ninth in the league in 3-point rate (.445) and 26th in 3-point percentage (33.3%).
Key Injury Report for Trail Blazers:
- G Scott Henderson (hasmtring) is out. Avg. 12.7ppg, 5.1apg
- G Jrue Holiday (calf) is doubtful. Avg. 16.pppg, 8.3apg, 5.3rpg
Suns vs. Trail Blazers Pick
Spread Pick for Suns vs. Trail Blazers
- Phoenix Suns -1 (4 units)
The Trail Blazers are the only team that managed to beat the reigning NBA champs, the Oklahoma City Thunder, in 2025-26. However, since their 121-119 victory over the Thunder on November 5, the Trail Blazers have struggled to defend.
Portland started its road trip with a 136-131 loss at Miami, and just four days ago, the Blazers suffered a heavy 140-116 defeat at Houston. Meanwhile, the Suns have been improving on both sides of the ball, so I like them in this spot.
The Blazers will be in trouble if Jrue Holiday remains on the sidelines. Without Holiday, Portland will struggle to contain Devin Booker and Dillon Brooks. The Blazers miss Scoot Henderson (hamstring), which is another blow for their backcourt. The Suns hit the fourth-most 3-pointers per 100 possessions and rank eighth in the league in assists per 100 possessions (27.2).
Over/Under Pick for Suns vs. Trail Blazers
- Over 237 (4 units)
The Trail Blazers play at the second-fastest pace in the NBA (102.7 possessions per 48 minutes). That’s pretty much Tiago Splitter’s influence on this Portland team. On the other side, the Suns register 99.0 possessions per 48 minutes (tied for 24th).
Both teams love to crush the offensive board. Portland is tied for the second-best offensive rebound percentage in the league (31.2%), while Phoenix ranks seventh in this category (29.7%). I already noted that both clubs love to shoot from deep, so give me the over.
