After going 34-48 last season, the San Antonio Spurs came into the season with higher expectations and an over/under win total set at 44.5 by ESPN Bet. So far, the Spurs look like their ceiling is much higher after rolling off five straight wins to start the season.
Last season, Victor Wembanyama missed 36 games, which held the Spurs back late in the season. The Spurs are already dealing with key injuries again, led by De’Aaron Fox, Kelly Olynyk, Luke Kornet, Jeremy Sochan, and Lindy Waters, who are likely not to play tonight in Phoenix. Despite the injury list, the Spurs do have Wembanyama and plenty of depth behind him, which has led them to a perfect start.
After five games, Victor Wembanyama averages 30.2 points, 14.6 rebounds, and 4.8 blocks per game. The supporting cast behind the Spurs superstar has been strong, led by Stephon Castle (18.8 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 5.4 apg), Devin Vassell (16.8 ppg), and rookie Dylan Harper (14.4 ppg). The Spurs are fourth in the NBA in offensive rating and first on the defensive end.

The Suns need to help Booker
The Suns only won 36 games last season despite having a big three with Devin Booker, Kevin Durant, and Bradley Beal. With Durant traded to Houston and Beal now with the Clippers, Phoenix came into this season with an ESPN Bet season win total posted at 31.5.
Devin Booker has led the Suns in scoring in all six games, averaging 30.3 ppg. Grayson Allen has also played in all six games and averaged 16.3 ppg. Dillon Brooks, who was acquired in the trade for Kevin Durant along with Jalen Green, has averaged 19.3 ppg in three games but will miss Sunday night, dealing with a groin injury. Jalen Green has not yet taken the floor this season due to his hamstring.
The Suns did snap a four-game losing streak Friday night, knocking off the Utah Jazz 118-96. The Suns are 23rd in the league in offensive rating and tied for 17th defensively.
