Toronto Wins Three Straight
The Toronto Raptors lost four of their first five games, but were able to bounce back strongly by winning their last three coming into Friday. Toronto took down Cleveland, Memphis and Milwaukee in the stretch, and has used their athletic wings to help carry the team to victory. In their last game, the Raptors blitzed the Bucks, winning by 28 points in blowout fashion. RJ Barrett helped to lead the way with 23 points in the victory.
Barrett is one of the most underrated scorers in the league, as he has averaged 18.0 or more points per game since the 2021-2022 season. The 25-year-old is no longer a young gun in the league, but still has room to grow and has a solid floor game, as he also gets 4.9 RPG and 3.5 APG. He has scored 20 or more in each of his last three games. Their top scorer has been Brandon Ingram, who has been healthy for all eight games and is getting 21.1 PPG so far. Ingram is a strong ballhandler at 6'8, and adds 6.1 RPG and 3.8 APG. Their top overall player is likely Scottie Barnes, the do-it-all forward is getting 20.9 PPG, 6.9 RPG, and 5.1 APG.
Jakob Poeltl is healthy again as their starting center. He missed three games, but he provides rim protection and rebounding when available. Immanuel Quickley starts at the point; he gets 13.0 PPG. Toronto is ranked 16th in offensive efficiency and 22nd in defensive efficiency according to dunksandthrees.com. The Raptors rank 19th in the league in possessions per game.

76ers Drop Three of Four
The Philadelphia 76ers were one of the hottest teams to start the NBA season, as they won their first four games of the year. Since then, they have lost three of four, with losses against Boston, Chicago and Cleveland. They are now tied with the Knicks at the top of the Atlantic Division with 5-3 records early in the season. In their last game, Tyrese Maxey had 27 points in the loss against the Cavaliers.
Maxey has been electric to start the season, scoring 33.5 points per game while taking over the offense from Joel Embiid. This is now Maxey's team until proven otherwise, as he is also getting 8.5 APG and 5.1 RPG while playing a complete game on the perimeter. The 25-year-old guard is quick off the bounce and has scored 26 or more points in every game this season. Kelly Oubre Jr. has been their second leading scorer so far, the 6'8 wing is getting 19.3 PPG with his ability to finish above the rim or behind the arc. Embiid continues to go in and out of the lineup, in his five games this season, he is getting 17.8 PPG and 5.4 RPG.
Quentin Grimes is a shooter off the bench, getting 18.3 PPG, and his role continues to increase as he proves his worth. There is a lot of hype around VJ Edgecomb, as the rookie is getting 17.6 PPG to start his career. The 76ers rank 8th in offensive efficiency and 23rd in defensive efficiency. The 76ers rank 6th in the league in possessions per game.

Raptors vs. 76ers Picks and Predictions
Spread pick for Raptors vs. 76ers
- 76ers to cover (5 units)
The Philadelphia 76ers were hot to start the season, then went south, but the time to jump back on the Philly bandwagon is now. Toronto is playing in Atlanta on Friday night, then Philly on Saturday; that is a quick turnaround, and not a short flight. The 76ers will have the rest advantage, which is important going into this one. If the 76ers are healthy and rested, that means Embiid will play, and while he has not been putting up MVP numbers like he used to, he is still much better than Jakob Poeltl. The 76ers will get out and run in this game and put up a big number on their way to a win.
Take the 76ers to cover.
Over/Under Pick for Raptors vs. 76ers
- Over (4 units)
The 76ers are coming off a day of rest, and will battle a tired Raptors team, who are travelling from Atlanta to play this game. Philly will look to push the pace, especially as their offense has switched from being Embiid-dominant to becoming a dribble-drive offense centered around Maxey. Oubre and Grimes are shooters who help play this pace and will push the tempo defensively. The Raptors will go deeper into their bench as their starters are fatigued, leading to a high-scoring game here.
Take the over.
