Winning Streak Ends as Chicago Falls in Baltimore
The Chicago Bears were coming into last week's matchup on a four-game winning streak, as they had defeated the Cowboys, Commanders, Raiders, and Saints in consecutive weeks. Luck appeared to be on their side as well, as Lamar Jackson was ruled out of their recent game just hours before kickoff, but Chicago still could not capitalize and lost by two touchdowns. Chicago is still alive in the playoff hunt as we approach the halfway point of the season. In the loss to Baltimore, Caleb Williams had 285 passing yards, but zero touchdown passes to go wit his one interception.
Williams has not yet blossomed into the superstar-in-the-making that many expected, but he has too much talent for the franchise to give up on him any time soon. This season, Williams is averaging 233.7 passing yards per game to go with his nine touchdowns and four interceptions while completing just 61.9% of his passes. He is capable of tucking the ball and running, as he has another 130 yards on the ground. Chicago's rushing attack is powered by De'Andre Swift, but he has been ruled out of this game with a groin injury. Kyle Monangai will be asked to be the top back this week. The 23-year-old out of Rutgers has 186 yards and a touchdown.
Rome Udonze has blossomed into their top receiver in his second season in the league. He leads the team with 473 yards on 31 catches with five touchdowns. DJ Moore is still another reliable option with 331 yards on 26 catches. Their defense has 14 sacks led by defensive tackle Gervon Dexter Sr. with 3.5, while the team also has 11 interceptions led by safety Kevin Byard III with four.

Out: RB De'Andre Swift, WR Luther Burden III, RB Roschon Johnson, DT Shemar Turner, DE Dominique Robinson
Bengals Wait on Flacco
The Cincinnati Bengals are closely monitoring the health of Joe Flacco, who has been battling a sprained AC joint in his throwing shoulder. The most recent reports say that he has been feeling good, but is still listed as questionable on the team's injury report. Flacco played last week, but their defense still gave up 39 points to the Jets, resulting in giving New York their first win out of eight tries on the year. Flacco finished with 223 passing yards in the loss.
Flacco is averaging 261.3 passing yards in his appearances this season, with some games being played with the Browns before coming over in a midseason trade. He has a 9-6 TD-INT ratio and is completing 60.8% of his passes. If Flacco cannot go, Jake Browning will get another start with his 6-8 TD-INT ratio on the year. Chase Brown has been their top running back; he has 383 yards and two touchdowns, with his best game coming two weeks ago when he rushed for 108 yards on the Steelers.
Flacco's favorite thing to do in this offense has been to air the ball out to Ja'Marr Chase, who leads the league in receptions with 70. He is also second in receiving yards with 720, and has five touchdowns on the season. Tee Higgins has added another 360 yards and four touchdowns. Their defense has 11 sacks, led by defensive end Trey Hendrickson with four. Jordan Battle leads the team with three of their total eight interceptions.

Questionable: QB Joe Flacco, LB Logan Wilson, DE Trey Hendrickson, CB Marco Wilson
Chicago Bears vs. Cincinnati Bengals picks
Spread pick and prediction for Bears vs. Bengals
- Bears -2.5 (5 units)
The Bears lost last week against the Ravens, but let's not forget that they rattled off four consecutive wins before that matchup. The Bears will open up the passing game in this one, as Odunze and Moore are both healthy as reliable receiving options for Williams. The Bengals' defense has not looked strong; they just gave up 39 points to arguably the worst team in the league in the Jets, and could be without their top pass rusher. Hendrickson is listed as questionable for Cincinnati, if he is slow off the edge, the Bengals' defense will not be able to get to the quarterback or cover the Bears' wideouts. Flacco is battling an injury in his throwing shoulder, which is not good news for a 40-year-old quarterback. The Bears get back on track here.
Take the Bears to win and cover.
Over/Under Pick for Bears vs. Bengals
- Under 51.5 (4 units)
This number is way too high for two quarterbacks who struggle to complete the ball. Caleb Williams has been struggling with consistency all season. He can throw a beautiful deep ball, but follow it up by missing a simple checkdown pass in the flat. He is only completing 61.9% of his passes this season, and that is an even high percentage than Flacco's 60.8% completion rate. Caleb is 31st in the NFL in completion percentage, and Flacco is 35th, as even some backups are completing at a higher rate than these two. The Bengals were just in a shootout in the high 30's against the Jets; they will regress to their average, and this will be a low-scoring game.
Take the under.
