Chicago meets Philadelphia for the first time since 2022, when the Eagles beat the Bears 25-20 as 8.5-point road favorites. It was Philadelphia’s sixth straight victory over Chicago, and the Bears have only covered once during that span.

The Bears continue to shine

The Chicago Bears (8-3; 7-4 ATS; 6-4-1 O/U) have only lost one of their previous nine games overall. After stopping their four-game winning streak with a 30-16 defeat at the Baltimore Ravens, the Bears launched another four-game winning streak, beating the Cincinnati Bengals 47-42, the New York Giants 24-20, the Minnesota Vikings 19-17, and the Pittsburgh Steelers 31-28.

Last Sunday, the Bears took full advantage of Aaron Rodgers’ absence and beat the Steelers as 2.5-point home favorites. Chicago held Pittsburgh to seven points in the second half. Both teams turned the ball over twice, and the Steelers narrowly outgained the Bears in total yards, 345-328.

Caleb Williams threw for 239 yards and three touchdowns last week. DJ Moore caught five passes for 64 yards and a couple of touchdowns, while Kyle Monangai posted 12 carries for 48 yards and a touchdown.

"I was really proud about the pass pro," Bears head coach Ben Johnson said. "That's a really good unit in terms of getting pressure on the quarterback. I thought across the board, for most of that game, our guys kept them as at bay as I had seen on tape so far this year."

Williams, the No. 1 pick from the 2024 NFL Draft, is having a great season. He’s tossed for 2,568 yards, 16 touchdowns, and just four interceptions while rushing for 293 yards and three touchdowns. Rome Odunze is Williams’ favorite target, and the second-year wideout has amassed 653 yards and six touchdowns this season.

The Bears score 26.3 points per game (8th in the NFL) and surrender 26.5 points in return (tied for 26th). Their defense leads the league in takeaways with 24. The Bears have already recorded 16 interceptions (also 1st) to go with 23 sacks (21st) and 48 tackles for loss (tied for 23rd).

Key Injury Report for Bears:

  • CB Tyrique Stevenson (hip) is questionable. Has one INT, 33 tackles.
  • LB Noah Sewell is questionable. Has 31 tackles.

The Eagles are coming off a tough loss

The Philadelphia Eagles (8-3; 7-4 ATS; 5-6 O/U) put an end to their four-game winning streak last Sunday. After beating the Minnesota Vikings 28-22, the New York Giants 38-20, the Green Bay Packers 10-7, and the Detroit Lions 16-9, the Eagles suffered a 24-21 defeat at the Dallas Cowboys.

The Eagles blew a 21-point lead in Dallas. They failed to score in the second half, and the Cowboys outgained Philadelphia 473-339 in total yards. Philadelphia committed a staggering 14 penalties for 96 yards, while Saquon Barkley lost his first fumble in 2025.

“I'm not going to make any sweeping judgments at this particular time," Eagles coach Nick Sirianni said. “When there's a lot of mistakes that we had, some of the self-inflicted wounds that we had today, I'm always going to put that on me as the head coach.”

Jalen Hurts completed 27 of his 39 passing attempts last Sunday, throwing for 289 yards and a touchdown. He scored twice on his own, but the Eagles rushed just 18 times for 63 yards. A.J. Brown had eight receptions for 110 yards and a touchdown, while DeVonta Smith caught six passes for 89 yards.

Hurts has tossed for 2,284 yards, 17 touchdowns, and just one interception this season. He’s rushed for 298 yards and eight touchdowns, while Smith leads the receiving corps with 55 catches for 754 yards and three touchdowns. Dallas Goedert has done a great job in the red zone, scoring seven touchdowns on 38 receptions.

The Eagles lead the NFL in red-zone percentage (77.8%). They score 23.2 points per game (17th in the league) and allow 20.5 points in return (8th). The Eagles’ defense has amassed 22 sacks (tied for 22nd), 42 tackles for loss (31st), and 12 takeaways (tied for 19th).

Key Injury Report for Eagles:

  • WR DeVonta Smith (shoulder/chest/illness) did not practice on Wednesday and is questionable.
  • RB Saquon Barkley (groin) is questionable.
  • DE Brandon Graham (groin) is questionable.

Bears vs. Eagles Pick

Spread Pick for Bears vs. Eagles

  • Philadelphia Eagles -7.0 (5 units)

The Bears’ defensive unit is banged up. Linebacker Tremaine Edmunds and defensive tackle Shemar Turner are both on the IR, while five starters missed Tuesday’s practice due to injuries, including linebacker Noah Sewell and cornerback Tyrique Stevenson.

Chicago leads the NFL in takeaways, but the Bears’ defense has some serious shortcomings. The Bears allow 138.1 rushing yards per game (28th in the league) and 5.2 yards per carry (30th). Moreover, their defense is 26th in red-zone percentage (61.5%).

I expect the Eagles to pound the rock and move the chains with ease. When they get to the red zone, the Eagles will focus on Dallas Goedert, A.J. Brown, and DeVonta Smith because the Bears have allowed a staggering 22 touchdowns through the air.

Philadelphia’s defense is not as good as it was in 2024. Yet, the Eagles are third in the NFL in opposing red-zone percentage (48.5%). I expect them to slow the Bears’ offense down and win this game by at least a touchdown.

Over/Under Pick for Bears vs. Eagles

  • Over 44.5 (5 units)

As I mentioned, the Bears’ run defense is not good, and their red-zone defense is far from elite level. Tremaine Edmunds’ absence is a huge blow for the Bears, so I think this is a nice matchup for the Eagles.

Hopefully, the Eagles will start using RB Tank Bigsby more frequently. He’s amassed 164 yards on just 18 carries this season. Saquon Barkley is having a down year, and he was limited in Tuesday’s practice due to a groin injury.

The Bears just allowed 28 points and 186 rushing yards to Pittsburgh. Hereof, I expect the Eagles to torture Chicago’s defense. The Bears will score enough to push the total over the line.
