Chicago Bears vs Seattle Seahawks Picks, Prediction, Odds, and Line Movement for Monday November 2 2026

By: Alex MacMillan Published 11/01/2026, 09:19 AM ET

Monday night's Chicago Bears vs Seattle Seahawks picks focus on an NFC matchup in which both teams arrive with momentum but the injuries change how their offenses are likely to operate. Chicago is 5-2 after beating New England, while Seattle is 4-3 following a convincing defensive performance against Kansas City. The Seahawks are favored by three at Lumen Field, with a 46.5-point total. The key question is whether two capable quarterbacks can overcome personnel losses against defenses that have recently produced meaningful stops.

Seattle will have Sam Darnold directing the offense, with Caleb Williams expected to start for Chicago. Their presence supports some scoring potential, but both staffs face significant choices in protection and the run game. Seattle has ruled out its left tackle Charles Cross and receiver Rashid Shaheed. Chicago is without running back Kyle Monangai. With the number still in the upper forties, the Under merits closer attention than a favorite that must win by more than a field goal.

Chicago Bears vs Seattle Seahawks Preview

Seattle's win over Kansas City gives the defense a strong recent result to build from. Holding the Chiefs to three points required more than simply winning the turnover battle. The Seahawks denied Kansas City the efficient early downs that normally allow Patrick Mahomes to dictate coverage and pace. Chicago has a different style and a quarterback who can create with his legs, but Seattle's defensive success is relevant because it shows the home side can sustain pressure over four quarters without relying on its offense to win a shootout.

The Chicago offense has improved as Williams has become healthier and more comfortable under Ben Johnson. The Bears scored 30 against New England and have used a varied run game to take some of the burden away from their quarterback. That matters against a Seattle defense capable of disrupting predictable third-down passing. Chicago's best offensive path is to keep manageable down-and-distance with early runs, play-action and quick distribution rather than ask Williams to complete difficult throws against a settled secondary on every drive.

Monangai's absence complicates that plan. A deep backfield can absorb a missing player, but it still forces the Bears to adjust who handles specific packages and short-yardage work. The more important question is whether Chicago can maintain enough of its run-game efficiency to avoid obvious passing downs. If Seattle closes off early rushing lanes, the Bears may find themselves spending too much time protecting Williams against a difficult pass rush in a hostile environment.

Seattle's offense also faces a significant reshuffle. Cross has been ruled out with an ankle injury, which matters especially against a defense that can bring pressure from different alignments. Darnold can attack downfield when given a stable pocket, but a replacement left tackle changes how long plays can develop and whether the Seahawks need additional protection help. That could mean more quick-game throws, more tight-end assistance and a smaller selection of slow-developing deep routes.

Shaheed's absence removes another explosive passing option. Jaxon Smith-Njigba remains an outstanding receiver who can win at multiple depths, yet Chicago can devote more attention to him when Seattle lacks one of its fastest complementary threats. A concentrated target tree can still produce yardage, especially if Smith-Njigba wins quickly, but it can also make third-down conversion harder when the defense knows where the quarterback wants to go.

Matchup Breakdown

Seattle does gain an important contributor with Zach Charbonnet cleared to return from his knee injury. His presence could strengthen the run game and help protect Darnold, but it would be risky to assume that a player returning from a long absence immediately carries his normal workload. The coaching staff can split carries and manage situations carefully, particularly early. That makes a methodical offense plausible without guaranteeing repeated explosive rushing plays.

On the other side, Williams' mobility makes it difficult to assume Chicago will struggle simply because Seattle can rush the passer. When protection breaks down, Williams can escape or reset the play. The Seahawks need their edge defenders to keep contain, especially on third downs where a quarterback scramble can effectively erase a good coverage snap. A few such conversions could threaten the Under, which is one reason the bet requires a reasonable line rather than an assumption of total offensive failure.

Seattle lists linebacker Uchenna Nwosu as doubtful, while guard Anthony Bradford, backup quarterback Drew Lock, defensive tackle Brandon Pili and linebacker Patrick O'Connell are questionable. Nwosu's expected absence can reduce pass-rush flexibility even if the defense remains effective overall. Chicago has designated D'Marco Jackson and Malik Muhammad questionable. These are final team designations as of Saturday; game-day inactives can narrow the active rotations further, particularly on defense.

The schedule favors Chicago in one respect. The Bears last played Thursday, giving them additional time to recover and prepare, while Seattle hosted Kansas City on Sunday night. Extra rest does not automatically produce an offensive advantage, but it can make it easier to rehearse protection changes and prepare for a hostile road setting. Seattle has home-field familiarity and has just demonstrated that its defense can control a nationally televised matchup. Neither scheduling argument independently settles the side.

Game Thesis: Chicago is capable of competing despite being the underdog, and Seattle deserves respect at home after its defensive performance against Kansas City. The more convincing market angle is that both offenses have reasons to play through shorter, controlled possessions. Cross and Shaheed are unavailable for Seattle, Monangai is out for Chicago, and Seattle's defense is capable of forcing a young quarterback to complete consecutive difficult drives rather than rely on splash plays.

Chicago Bears vs Seattle Seahawks Best Bet - Total: Under 46.5 (-109)

Under 46.5 is the preferred wager because it provides a clearer path than laying Seattle -3 against a Chicago offense that has produced points consistently with a healthy Williams. The Seahawks may win, but the margin could land close to the field goal. A lower-possession game supports both a modest Seahawks victory and a total below the mid-forties. The projection is Seattle 24, Chicago 20, combining for 44 points.

The matchup argument is specific. Seattle must protect Darnold without Cross, reducing confidence in repeated long-developing passing plays. Shaheed's absence also takes away one avenue for a quick touchdown. Chicago can counter with its own productive passing game, but Seattle's defensive structure and the Bears' backfield adjustment could force Williams to methodically earn points rather than collect them with one or two throws.

There are meaningful failure scenarios. Smith-Njigba could dominate even against focused coverage, Williams could create big gains after escaping the pocket, and an early turnover could give either offense a short field. Charbonnet could also look sharp immediately rather than require a gradual return. That combination would make the Over easier to reach than the injury list alone suggests.

The recommendation is tied to Under 46.5 at -109. A move to 44.5 would remove most of the projected cushion, while a considerably more expensive attached price would change the risk-reward. Monday's final inactive list and the quoted line still need to be rechecked closer to kickoff, but the current injuries and team styles support the Under as the best available market.

Prediction: Chicago Bears 20, Seattle Seahawks 24
