The 2025 NFL betting action continues Sunday, October 12, with the Cincinnati Bengals taking on the Green Bay Packers in the non-conference showdown at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, WI, and we’ve got you covered with our Bengals vs. Packers prediction.
The Bengals meet the Packers for the first time since 2021, when Green Bay outlasted Cincinnati 25-22 as a 2-point road fave. The Packers are huge 14.5-point home favorites this time around, while the total sits at 44.5 points.
Will the Bengals be able to hang around and make this game interesting to watch down the stretch? Read more about this Bengals vs. Packers prediction, one of our NFL picks for Week 6. The kick-off at Lambeau Field is set at 4:25 PM ET.
The Bengals are struggling without Joe Burrow
With their starting QB Joe Burrow on the IR, the Cincinnati Bengals (2-3; 1-4 ATS; 3-2 O/U) are on a three-game losing streak. After a couple of heavy road defeats against the Minnesota Vikings 48-10 and the Denver Broncos 28-3, the Bengals lost to the Detroit Lions 37-24 in Week 5.

Jake Browning has been awful against Minnesota and Denver. Last Sunday, he threw for 251 yards, three touchdowns, and three interceptions. Through three starts and one relief appearance this season, Browning has tossed for 757 yards, six touchdowns, and a whopping eight interceptions.
Browning is not an answer, so the Bengals decided to trade for Joe Flacco. In exchange for the 40-year-old veteran and a sixth-round pick, the Bengals sent the 2026 fifth-round pick to the Cleveland Browns. According to the Bengals head coach Zac Taylor, Flacco will start against the Packers.
"Joe is an experienced quarterback with a history of winning," said Taylor. "He is a leader with a skill set that will fit our personnel well. He is a gifted passer with a strong arm, and we are excited to have him on our team."
Flacco will meet Green Bay for the second time this season. Back in Week 3, he led the Browns to a 13-10 home victory over the Packers. Cleveland erased a 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter, and Flacco finished with 142 passing yards and an interception.
Frankly, Flacco won’t solve all of the Bengals’ offensive issues. Cincinnati racks up just 57.0 rushing yards per game (32nd in the NFL) and 3.1 yards per carry (tied for 31st). The Bengals’ defense has been awful, too, allowing 31.2 points per game (30th) on 132.2 rushing yards (tied for 24th) and 259.0 passing yards (29th).
The Packers hope to get back on track
The Green Bay Packers (2-1-1; 2-2 ATS; 1-3 O/U) are coming off a bye, looking to return to winning ways. They started the season with consecutive home wins over the Detroit Lions 27-13 and the Washington Commanders 27-18. After that, the Packers lost at the Cleveland Browns 13-10 and played a 40-40 tie at the Dallas Cowboys two weeks ago.
As I mentioned, the Packers blew a 10-0 lead in Cleveland. They barely outgained the Browns 230-221 in total yards, but the Packers committed a staggering 14 penalties for 75 yards and struggled to cope with the Browns’ sturdy defense.
Two weeks ago on a Sunday night, the Packers got things going on the offensive side of the ball, but their defense fell apart. Green Bay outgained Dallas 489-439 in total yards, while Jordan Love and Dak Prescott threw for three touchdowns each.
Josh Jacobs had a big game against the Cowboys. He rushed 22 times for 86 yards and two touchdowns while catching four passes for 71 yards. Romeo Doubs was outstanding, too, posting six receptions for 71 yards and three touchdowns.
“Doesn’t feel good, feels kind of weird,” Love said. “Feels weird to go through a full game and end in a tie.”
Love has thrown for 1,000 yards, eight touchdowns, and an interception so far this season. The Packers score 26.0 points per game (9th in the NFL) and surrender 21.0 points in return (tied for 11th). Their defense ranks second in rushing yards (77.5 per game) and 11th in passing yards (205.8).
Bengals vs. Packers Pick
Spread Pick for Bengals vs. Packers
- Green Bay Packers -14.5 (5 units)
I can only look at the Packers despite a huge 14.5-point spread. The Bengals have serious flaws on both sides of the ball. It’s not just about Joe Flacco, but the Bengals have already allowed 15 sacks this season. At 40, Flacco moves about as well as expected at his age, which means he's not very mobile.
As I noted, the Bengals’ ground game and defense have been horrendous over the last five weeks. Green Bay’s run defense has done a great job thus far, and the Packers have enough offensive weapons to torture the Bengals.
Moreover, the Packers are very dangerous when playing at home. They’ve beaten the number in five of their previous six showings at Lambeau Field. On the other side, the Bengals are 1-5 ATS in their last six games overall and 1-4 ATS in their last five outings on the road.
Over/Under Pick for Bengals vs. Packers
- Over 44.5 (5 units)
The Packers dropped 40 points on Dallas, and they could easily surpass a 30-point mark when the Bengals come to town. Cincinnati’s ground game will continue to struggle, and the Bengals will have to simplify their playbook because of Joe Flacco, but their receiving corps is one of the best in the league.
Ja’Marr Chase has already caught 32 passes for 374 yards and three touchdowns, while Tee Higgins has 158 receiving yards and two touchdowns on his season tally. The Bengals will find a way to add to the scoreboard, so give me the over.
