Cleveland Battles Injuries
The Cleveland Browns are not battling for a playoff spot due to their 3-10 record, but life on the road will be even more difficult this week due to injuries. Shadeur Sanders was the third-string quarterback to start the season, but will now be the starter for the rest of the year. Regardless of the high-profile quarterback change, Cleveland will be without four other starters this week. CB Denzel Ward, TE David Njoku, G Wyatt Teller, and T Jack Conklin will all be out of the lineup with injuries.
They are coming off the loss to the Titans, which had the noteworthy finish as Cleveland pulled Shedeur Sanders from the field for their two-point conversion attempt, which would have tied the game. Sanders was having a good game, as he passed for 374 yards and three touchdowns with just one interception. It was the best game of his young career, as his previous career high in passing was just 209 yards. Quinshon Judkins will be their top back this week. He has 784 yards and seven touchdowns in his rookie season out of Ohio State.
The Browns have struggled to get elite production from their wide receivers, as tight end Harold Fannin Jr. has been their top pass catcher with 619 yards and four touchdowns. Jerry Jeudy has been the best of the receiving corps with 497 yards and two touchdowns. The defense has 44 sacks on the season, with Myles Garrett closing in on the season sack record set at 22.5, as Garrett is already at 20. Linebacker Devin Bush has two of the teamβs ten interceptions.

Injury Report for Browns:

- Questionable: S Grant Delpit, WR Cedric Tillman
Bears' Win Streak is Snapped
The Chicago Bears have turned the franchise around this season, led by the combo of head coach Ben Johnson and quarterback Caleb Williams. The Bears had a streak of five straight wins, including impressive wins over the Steelers and Eagles in the stretch. They fought hard in the second half to almost complete a comeback against Green Bay last week. In that game, Williams passed for 185 yards and two touchdowns in the loss.
Williams is averaging 223.7 passing yards per game and 19 passing touchdowns. He only completes 57.8% of his passes, but it has not led to turnovers as he only has six interceptions on the year. He is a mobile quarterback who can make plays on the run. He has 321 rushing yards and three touchdowns on the ground. The Bears have two running backs who have been productive while sharing the workload. DeAndre Swift has 837 yards and five touchdowns, while seventh-round pick Kyle Monangai has added another 648 yards and five touchdowns.
Rome Odunze has taken over as the top receiver in Chicago, as he leads the team with 661 yards and six touchdowns. The bad news is that Odunze is listed as questionable, as he is battling a foot injury and was limited in practice. DJ Moore is still available and has contributed 498 yards and three scores. Their defense has 24 sacks on the season, led by defensive end Montez Sweat with 8.5. The team has 18 interceptions, with safety Kevin Byard III leading the way with six.
Injury Report for Bears
- Out: T Luke Newman, LB Tremaine Edmunds
- Questionable: WR Rome Odunze, CB Kyler Gordon, CB Tyrique Stevenson
Browns vs. Bears Picks and Predictions
Spread pick and prediction for Browns vs. Bears
- Bears -7.5 (5 units)
This will be a very cold and windy day in Chicago, with the temperature predicted to be around ten degrees. With this said, I will side with the team with the stronger run game and more motivation to succeed, which is why the Bears are the play here. DeAndre Swift is having a strong season, and Kyle Monangai has been excellent lately, including the game where he ran for 130 yards on the strong Philly defense. Ben Johnson knows how to design run plays and will play a physical game in the cold here. Shadeur Sanders was strong last week, but playing against the one-win Titans is very different from going to Chicago in freezing temperatures to play the nine-win Bears. The Browns are down two starters on the offensive line, and Sanders will be in trouble all day.
Over/Under Pick for Browns vs. Bears
- Under 38.5 (4 units)
The line makers in Vegas saw the weather report for this one and know it will be a low-scoring game in the cold. Each team has a young quarterback who has yet to prove they can consistently zip the ball through cold, windy air. This game will be won on the ground, as Chicago has strong backs, and Cleveland is sure to rely on Judkins. Odunze may be out for Chicago, which will hurt their passing game even more. Expect a low-scoring battle in the trenches in this one.
Take the under.
