Detroit Lions (6-3) vs. Philadelphia Eagles (7-2)

Week 11 of the 2025 NFL season brings Sunday Night Football from Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, PA, and we’ve got you covered with our Lions vs. Eagles prediction, as the reigning Super Bowl champions host the best team from the NFC North.

The Lions meet the Eagles for the first time since September 11, 2022, when Philadelphia outlasted Detroit 38-35 as a 6-point road favorite. The Eagles are 2.5-point home favorites this time around, while the total sits at 46.5 points.

The Lions cruised past the Commanders in Week 10

The Detroit Lions (6-3; 6-3 ATS; 5-4 O/U) have been shaky over the last few weeks. They stopped a four-game winning streak in Week 6, suffering a 30-17 defeat at the Kansas City Chiefs. The Lions bounced back with a 24-9 home win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 7, but then, after a bye in Week 8, the Lions lost to the Minnesota Vikings 27-24 as 9.5-point home favorites.

The Lions returned to winning ways last Sunday, beating the Washington Commanders 44-22. Detroit covered an 8-point spread on the road with ease, taking full advantage of the Commanders’ injury woes. The Lions racked up 546 total yards and gave up 288 in return.

Jared Goff had a field day in Week 10. He went 25-of-33 for 320 yards and three touchdowns. Jahmyr Gibbs posted 15 carries for 142 yards and two touchdowns to go with three receptions for 30 yards and a touchdown, while Jameson Williams caught six passes for 119 yards and a TD.

After that shocking loss against Minnesota, the Lions head coach Dan Campbell decided to take over play-calling duties from offensive coordinator John Morton. However, the clash against Washington is not a proper benchmark. The Commanders miss multiple defensive playmakers, and their defense has been awful lately.

"It was just, let's try something a little different," Campbell said in his postgame press conference. "Look, I know what I want to do, I know how I want to do it. Now, that being said, this is a collaborative effort. I was taking input from John Morton that whole time, and the other coaches."

The Lions boast the second-highest scoring offense in the NFL (31.4 points per game). Goff has thrown for 2,235 yards, 20 touchdowns, and just interceptions this season, while Gibbs has already amassed 920 yards from scrimmage and 10 touchdowns. Amon-Ra St. Brown leads the receiving corps with 64 catches for 693 yards and eight touchdowns.

On the other side of the ball, the Lions allow 22.2 points per game (tied for 12th in the NFL) on 94.3 rushing yards (8th) and 199.7 passing yards (12th). They rank fourth in sacks (30), seventh in 3rd down defense (35.5%), and 27th in red-zone defense (66.7%).

The Eagles aim for their fourth straight W

The Philadelphia Eagles (7-2; 6-3 ATS; 5-4 O/U) strung together a couple of losses in Weeks 5 and 6, losing against the Denver Broncos 21-17 at home and the New York Giants 31-17 on the road. Since then, the Eagles have won three straight contests over the Minnesota Vikings 28-22, the NY Giants 38-20, and the Green Bay Packers 10-7.

Last Monday, the Eagles outlasted the Packers as slight 1-point road underdogs. Philadelphia outgained Green Bay 294-261 in total yards and won the turnover battle 2-1. After a scoreless first half, the Eagles got things going in the second and fully deserved to win.

Jalen Hurts lost a fumble in the first quarter, but he was solid when it mattered the most. Hurts went 15-of-26 for 183 yards and a touchdown while rushing five times for 27 yards. Saquon Barkley racked up 101 yards from scrimmage, and DeVonta Smith had four receptions for 69 yards and a TD.

“We have huge sparks," said Barkley, who was limited to 60 yards on 22 carries. "With the type of talent we have on this offense and on this team, two to three plays, it’s just crazy. In two to three plays, we can go downfield and score.”

A.J. Brown had just three targets in Week 10. He finished the game with two receptions for 13 yards, and the three-time Pro-Bowl wideout was furious after the game. Brown has amassed 31 catches, 408 yards, and three touchdowns across eight games this season.

DeVonta Smith leads the way with 48 catches for 657 yards and three touchdowns, while tight end Dallas Goedert has recorded 34 receptions for 332 yards and seven scores. Barkley has amassed 779 yards from scrimmage and six touchdowns, and Hurts has rushed for 234 yards and five scores while throwing for 1,860 yards, 16 touchdowns, and one interception.

The Eagles score 24.2 points per game (12th in the NFL) and allow 21.3 points in return (10th). Their defense is 19th in rushing yards (118.6 per game), 14th in passing yards (209.3), 26th in 3rd down percentage (42.4%), and fourth in red-zone percentage (48.1%).

Lions vs. Eagles Pick

Spread Pick for Lions vs. Eagles

  • Philadelphia Eagles -2.5 (5 units)

The Lions have injury worries ahead of Week 11. Tight end Sam LaPorta (back) and safety Kerby Joseph both missed Thursday’s practice, while offensive linemen Taylor Decker (shoulder) and Penei Sewell (ankle) were limited. Both Decker and Sewell have played through injuries over the last few weeks, while Joseph, who has three interceptions in 2025, is in danger of missing his fourth straight game.

On the other side, the Eagles don’t have any serious injury problems. Their defense finally played well last Monday, and the Eagles will look to build on that performance. Philadelphia has amassed just 19 sacks this season (24th in the NFL), but the Eagles are fifth in the league in QB knockdowns (32).

The Eagles just sacked Jordan Love three times. I expect them to put a lot of pressure on Jared Goff and the Lions’ offensive line. Goff is a great quarterback when he doesn’t feel pressure, but he’s turnover-prone under pressure. The Vikings sacked him five times two weeks ago, and the Lions went 5-for-17 on 3rd down.

Jalen Hurts, on the other side, is capable of extending plays thanks to his mobility. He doesn’t panic and rarely makes mistakes. The Phillies will be able to run the ball in this matchup, so I expect them to get the job done in front of the home fans.

Over/Under Pick for Lions vs. Eagles

  • Over 46.5 (5 units)

Both teams are capable of playing tough defense. The Eagles are coming off their best defensive performance of the season. However, these two teams should be able to run efficiently against each other and score enough points to push the total over the line.

The Lions allow 4.0 yards per carry, and just five teams have recorded fewer tackles for loss than Detroit, including Philadelphia. The Eagles allow 4.4 yards per carry. The over has hit in each of the last nine encounters between Detroit and Philadelphia, and I have to ride this betting trend.

Also, the over is 10-5 in the Lions’ last 15 games overall and 5-2 in the Eagles’ previous seven.
