Packers have not been road warriors
The Packers are coming off a 27-18 win over Cincinnati that improved their record to 3-1-1. They have also earned wins over Detroit and Washington, with their only loss coming to Cleveland and a tie against Dallas. Green Bay has been strong offensively, ranking ninth in total yards per game at 359.6, 11th in passing at 237.4 yards per game, and 12th in rushing at 122.2. The Packers are scoring 26.2 points per game, which ranks eighth in the league, and they have done an excellent job taking care of the football with only three turnovers all season.
Defensively, the Packers have been among the leagueβs best, ranking fifth in total defense at 280.2 yards per game and first against the run at 73.0 yards allowed per game. They are giving up 20.4 points per game, good for tenth in the NFL, but have struggled to create turnovers with only two takeaways so far.

Green Bay has some injury concerns of its own, particularly on the offensive line, as Zack Tom, Jordan Morgan, and Aaron Banks are all questionable. Wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks and running back Josh Jacobs are also banged up, and Jacobs has been limited in practice this week. If he cannot play, Emanuel Wilson would step in after rushing for 84 yards on 18 carries this season.
Quarterback Jordan Love has been efficient through five games, completing 70.1 percent of his passes for 1,259 yards with nine touchdowns and only two interceptions. The Packers are 2-3 against the spread this season and 1-3-1 to the over/under.
Brissett expected to start again
The Cardinals enter on a four-game losing streak, but they have remained competitive throughout the skid. Each of those losses has come by four points or fewer, including a 31-27 road loss to Indianapolis last Sunday. Arizona actually outgained the Colts 400 to 355 in total yards. With Kyler Murray sidelined by a mid-foot sprain, Jacoby Brissett started and played well, completing 27 of 44 passes for 320 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. He was sacked twice but kept the Cardinals in the game, leading a late 78-yard, 10-play drive that ended with an incomplete 4th-and-7 pass from the nine-yard line in the final minute.
Arizona has been statistically average on both sides of the ball, ranking 24th in total yards gained and allowed. The Cardinals are scoring 21.7 points per game, ranking 20th, and giving up 21.2 points per game, ranking 14th. They are 3-3 against the spread and 3-3 to the over/under.
Brissett is expected to start again, with Murray still recovering. The Cardinals are dealing with several other injuries as well, including defensive lineman Walter Nolen III, who remains on the PUP list with a calf issue, while Darius Robinson, Emari Demercado, Zay Jones, and Marvin Harrison Jr. are all listed as questionable heading into Friday.
Green Bay Packers at Arizona Cardinals Predictions
Spread Prediction for Packers vs. Cardinals
- Arizona Cardinals +7 (5 units)Β
Green Bay has been excellent at home but less reliable on the road, going 0-1-1 in away games against Cleveland and Dallas. The Packers could be short-handed on offense, especially on the offensive line and possibly without Josh Jacobs. Although Arizona could be without Kyler Murray and Marin Harrison Jr,Β the offense performed well last week as Brissett is a veteran who is good enough to make this a very close game. Arizona has also not lost by more than four points in any game this season. I have to back the Cardinals catching a full touchdown at home.
Total Prediction for Packers vs. Cardinals
- Over 44.5 (4 units)
The Packers have scored at least 27 points in four of five games, while Arizona has allowed 22 or more in three straight. With Jacobs banged up, expect the Packers to air it out early and often. On the other side, backup quarterback Jacoby Brissett brought life to the Cardinals' offense last week.
I expect both teams to be able to generate enough points to send this one over the total.
