New Orleans Saints vs Carolina Panthers Picks

Saints vs Panthers Spread Pick

  • Carolina -5.5 (4 units)

The Panthers have been one of the surprise teams of the season. They are continually playing well, winning four of their last five games. This stretch has been highlighted by the team’s win over the Packers last week, as the defense was impressive. Carolina ranks 16th in scoring defense and 15th in pass defense. Both of these marks will be good enough to dominate a New Orleans team that has been really poor on the road.

They have lost each road game by at least double digits. They are now starting rookie quarterback Tyler Shough, who struggled in his first start last week against the Rams, where the Saints lost by 24 points. The Saints' defense ranks 24th in defending the rush, which will be problematic against a Panthers team that has only improved their running numbers. Rico Dowdle has been great this year and has Carolina ranked fifth best in rush yards per game. Momentum is on the side of Carolina, along with a strong rushing game; the Panthers will get the win. New Orleans is also 0-4 against the spread when they have been six points or less underdogs

Saints vs Panthers Over/Under Pick

  • Under 38 points (5 units)

The under is 1-0 when the total has been set at 39 points or less for Carolina games this season. The under is 4-2-1 when the Saints have played against NFC teams, too. This is going to be a really low-scoring game with New Orleans’ very poor offensive statistics against a Panthers defense that ranks 16th in scoring. The Panthers' offense ranked as one of the best rush offenses, will have the clock rolling all game long.

Take the under on Sunday.Β
