Youth Movement in New York
The New York Giants are embracing their young talent, as they have turned the offense over to rookies Jaxson Dart and Cam Skattebo to lead the charge. The duo has helped lead the team to wins in two of their past three games, defeating the Chargers and Eagles, while mixing in a loss against the Saints in between. New York is currently at the bottom of the NFC East, but is only two games behind the division-leading Eagles, and has already had their first win against Philadelphia.
In the Thursday game against the Eagles, Skattebo put on another show with 98 yards and three touchdowns in the win. Skattebo was drafted in the fourth round, but appears to be a steal as he is third in the league with his five rushing touchdowns. He has 338 rushing yards on the season and is coming off his career high against Philly. Jaxson Dart has taken over quarterback duties and seems to have the full support of the coaching staff and fans. He has four passing touchdowns and two rushing touchdowns on the season, but has thrown two interceptions. Dart passed for 195 yards against Philly and 202 in the previous game against the Saints.
The Giants are dealing with their injury to star wideout Malik Nabers, as Wan'Dale Robinson has now become the top target in the passing game. Robinson is a quick 5'8 receiver with 351 yards and two touchdowns so far. Their defense has 13 sacks and four interceptions on the season, with their standout performer of the season being Brian Burns with his seven sacks from the outside linebacker spot.

New York is not very explosive offensively, averaging 5.2 yards per play (26th), but thanks to Dart and Skattebo, they rank 9th in rushing yards per game (126.2). Defensively, they allow 370.8 yards per game to rank 28th, as they struggle against the run (128.8ypg) and the pass (242ypg).
Injury Report:
Out: WR Malik Nabers
Questionable: OT Jermaine Eluemunor, WR Jalin Hyatt, WR Darius Slayton, S Dane Belton
Broncos Win Three Straight
The Denver Broncos and the New York Giants have both waved goodbye to Russell Wilson and looked to the future at the quarterback spot. Head Coach Sean Payton made that call first and turned the offense over to Bo Nix, who he plans to help grow and lead this Bronco team to the playoffs. Denver is heating up, as they come into this game on a three-game win streak, with victories against the Bengals, Eagles, and Jets. The Broncos and Chargers are both 4-2 at the top of the division, but the Chargers already have one head-to-head victory against them.
In their win against the Jets, Denver scored only three points in the second half on a field goal with five minutes left, but it was enough in the low-scoring win. Bo Nix went 19-30 with one touchdown in the win, with the one score going to Nate Adkins on a 16-yard reception at the end of the first quarter. Nix is averaging 212.8 passing yards per game with a 64.6% completion rate and a 9-4 TD-INT ratio. He is an athletic quarterback and a threat to run, as he has 124 yards on the ground. J.K. Dobbins is their lead back; he is 7th in the league with 442 rushing yards and has four touchdowns.
Courtland Sutton has been their top receiver; he has 27 catches for 382 yards and three scores as a 6'4 wideout. Troy Franklin has also been steady with 250 receiving yards in his second season out of Oregon. Their defense is all about the pass rush, as they have 30 sacks and just one interception so far. Nick Bonitto has led the charge with eight sacks already this year.
Denver is averaging 130.2 rushing yards per game (7th) and allowing just 89 yards per game (6th), so they are about old school football when it comes to rushing the football and stopping the run.
Injury Report:
Out: LB Dre Greenlaw, OT Matt Pearl
Questionable: LB Jonathan Cooper, LB Jonah Elliss
New York Giants vs. Denver Broncos picks
Spread pick and prediction for Giants vs. Broncos
- Giants +7.5 (5 units)
This number has gotten too big, as the Giants have a mobile quarterback who can avoid the Denver pass rush and operate outside the pocket. Dart will be able to evade pressure, and having a strong run game also works to slow down a pass rush as draw plays up the middle with Skattebo will eat up yards. The Broncos have won three straight, but two of those wins were against the Bengals and Jets, two of the bottom teams in the league. Their other win was against Philly, who New York just rolled over as well. The Giants have momentum with their youth movement and will keep this game close. Denver is dealing with some injuries in their linebacking core, which will help this young New York offense.
Take the Giants with the points.
Over/Under Pick for Giants vs. Broncos
- Under 40.5 (4 units)
This game does not have the feel of a shootout, even with the offensive-minded coaches. These quarterbacks are both young and still figuring out the NFL and their coaches' systems; they have not perfected them yet. There is potential for New York to start slow, as they must travel cross-country into the thin Denver air, where they have not played in a long time. Denver is off the London game, and their travel schedule was far from normal on their way back. The Broncos only scored 13 points over there, while the Giants recently only scored 14 against the Saints. Expect a defensive battle here.
Take the under.
