Eagles Looking to Prevail on the Road
Philadelphia played a dismal first half but got things going in the second half to take down the Rams at home last week to remain unbeaten. The Eagles improved to 3-0 on the season and are atop the NFC East by a game over Washington. Against Los Angeles, Philadelphia scored on their opening drive to take a 7-0 lead but gave up 26 unanswered points to trail 26-7 with 14:06 to play in the third quarter before getting on track. The Eagles scored the game’s final 26 points to earn the win. Philadelphia capitalized on a pair of blocked field goal attempts in the fourth quarter, returning the second for a game-sealing touchdown as time expired. The Eagles were outgained 356-288 in total offense, gave up 22 first downs while picking up 19, while both teams turned the ball over once. The Eagles placed Nolan Smith on injured reserve earlier this week, taking him out of the equation. Cornerback Adoree’ Jackson (groin) is the lone player with an injury designation for the game, as he is doubtful. Watch for updates as we get closer to kickoff.

Eagles vs. Buccaneers Pick
Spread Pick for Eagles vs. Buccaneers
- Eagles -3.5 (4 units)
Both teams are unbeaten on the season and come in off narrow victories last week. Philadelphia is in better shape health-wise entering this game, which works in their favor here. Tampa Bay is potentially down their top two receivers with Evans out and Godwin just hoping to make his season debut here. The weather works in Tampa’s favor as the game time temperature is expected to be near 90 degrees with plenty of humidity in the mix as well. Still, there are plenty of concerns to deal with for the Buccaneers on the injury front and this could be a game where Hurts and the Eagles’ passing game take center stage. Take Philadelphia on the road in this contest.
Over/Under Pick for Eagles vs. Buccaneers
- Under 44.5 (4 units)
Both teams are middle of the road in most categories heading into this contest. Philadelphia has seen the under post a 2-1 mark in their three games this season. The Eagles have seen combined totals of 44, 37 and 59 points in their three games and they stayed under the mark in their lone road game against Kansas City this season. Tampa Bay has seen the under hit in two of its three games this season. The Buccaneers have posted combined totals of 43, 39 and 56 points in their contests this year. Three of the last five meetings have ended up below the total. Look for this one to wind up falling just short of the mark in this contest, as 24 points should be enough to win this contest.
