In this Ravens at Packers prediction, the struggling Ravens head to Wisconsin to take on the Packers in an inter-conference battle of playoff hopefuls. The Ravens are coming off a heartbreaking loss to New England on Sunday night and have to win out for any hope of a playoff spot. The Packers dropped an overtime thriller to the Bears and will need help to claim the NFC North Division crown. The opening kick is scheduled for 8:00 pm EST. If you need quality winners, this is the ultimate site for NFL Picks.

Baltimore on Life Support

The Baltimore Ravens appeared on the verge of a critical win over the Patriots on Sunday night to stay just a game behind the Steelers in the AFC North Division. Instead, the Ravens lost starting quarterback Lamar Jackson to an apparent back injury and eventually blew an 11-point lead in the fourth quarter to fall 28-24.

“Tough loss," Ravens coach John Harbaugh said. “We didn’t do the winning things we need to do. We made some mistakes that cost us.”

Lamar Jackson finished 7-of-10 for 101 yards before having to exit the game late in the second quarter with a lower back injury. Tyler Huntley came in and finished 9-of-10 for just 65 yards and was sacked once. Running back Derrick Henry had a big night with 128 yards rushing and two touchdowns. Inexplicably, Henry didn’t touch the ball for the game’s final 12 minutes. Wide receiver Zay Flowers had seven catches for 84 yards and had an 18-yard rushing touchdown in the second half. It was Flowers, however, who fumbled on the Ravens’ final drive that sealed the win for the Patriots.

The Ravens’ defense kept the Patriots in check for much of the game, regularly pressuring quarterback Drake Maye. In the fourth quarter, however, the Ravens couldn’t hold up and allowed consecutive touchdowns to relinquish the lead. The Ravens had four sacks in the game and five tackles for loss. Marlon Humphrey forced the Ravens’ only turnover, picking off Maye on the Patriots’ first drive. The Ravens did allow the Patriots to throw for 374 yards through the air.

The Ravens don’t have any room for error now and will need help to have a shot next week at the division crown. The Ravens are 14th in the NFL in scoring coming into this game. They are first in rushing and just 27th in passing. The Ravens are just 22nd in sacks allowed per game. The team is 11th in red zone attempts per game and just 23rd in red zone touchdowns. Defensively, the Ravens are 16th in scoring defense. They are 13th against the run and just 28th against the pass. The Ravens had four sacks against the Patriots, but are just 27th in sacks per game. They are 25th in red zone attempts allowed per game and sixth in red zone touchdowns allowed. The Ravens are fourth in penalty yards per game, and they are 20th in turnover margin.

Key Injuries: CB Chidobe Awuzie, G Andrew Vorhees, and QB Lamar Jackson are all questionable.

Packers Fighting for Positioning

A win over the Bears last week, and the Packers would have controlled their own destiny for the division crown. The Packers had a projected 99 percent chance to win the game, up by 10 points with over two minutes left in the game. The Packers allowed a field goal, failed to recover the ensuing onside kick, and allowed the Bears to score the game-tying touchdown with under 20 seconds left. The final dagger was a 46-yard Bears’ touchdown in overtime to make improbable losers out of the Packers.

“It should hurt because these guys, all of us, we put a lot into this thing and we had opportunities," coach Matt LaFleur said. "You’re up two scores late in the game and unfortunately, it flipped pretty quick.”

The Packers nearly pulled off the victory despite losing their starting quarterback, Jordan Love, to a concussion in the first half. Love finished the game 8-of-13 for 77 yards. His backup, Malik Willis, played well. Willis went 9-of-11 for 121 yards and a touchdown. He also ran for 44 yards on 10 carries. As a team, the Packers ran for 192 yards on 44 carries. Romeo Doubs led the Packers with five catches for 84 yards and a touchdown. It was Doubs, however, that fumbled the onside kick and gave the Bears new life.

The Packers’ defense held the Bears in check for nearly the entire game until things went south over the final two minutes and overtime. The Packers allowed a total of 400 yards to the Bears, including 250 yards through the air. The Packers were especially tough on third down, allowing the Bears to convert on just 2-of-11 opportunities. In their first game without injured star Micah Parsons, the Packers failed to record a single sack. The Packers had just four quarterback hits in the contest. Quay Walker led the Pack with 14 tackles.

The Packers are now a full game behind the Bears in the standings and will need help to catch them in the final two weeks. They are 12th in the NFL in points per game. They are just 24th in rushing and 12th in passing. In the red zone offensively, the Packers are seventh in the NFL in red zone opportunities, and they are 7th in red zone touchdowns. They are ninth in the NFL in sacks allowed per game. Defensively, the Packers are 9th in points allowed per game. They are fifth against the run and ninth against the pass. The Packers’ defense is fourth in red zone opportunities allowed per game and 25th in red zone touchdowns allowed. They are 19th in sacks per game this season. The Packers are 11th in penalty yards per game. They are 10th in turnover margin in the NFL.

Key Injuries: S Evan Williams, TE Josh Whyle, OT Zach Tom, RB Josh Jacobs, and QB Jordan Love are all questionable.

Ravens at Packers

  • Point Spread Pick for Ravens at Packers

Packers -2.5 (4 units)

This is an interesting matchup of two teams in near must-win situations. The Ravens are hoping to have quarterback Lamar Jackson back from what is being listed as a bone bruise on his back. Early indications are that Jackson will get the start but, if not, Hundley has plenty of experience as the starting quarterback. The Packers’ situation is even more interesting. Love left the game with a concussion and backup Willis hurt his right shoulder near game’s end. Indications are that one or both will be ready, however, as the Packers didn’t add another quarterback this week. The Packers still have a viable shot at the division with the Bears traveling to SF to take on the red-hot Niners this week. The Ravens are on life support with the Steelers just needing to take down the Browns to clinch the division. The Packers are much more efficient in the red zone and protect the ball better than the Ravens. They also have a litany of receivers to exploit the Ravens’ 28th-ranked pass defense. And the Ravens come into this matchup at just 1-6 vs. teams with winning records this season. All signs point toward the Pack.

Take the Packers -2.5

Over/Under Pick for Ravens at Packers

  • Over 40.5

After a few strong weeks, the Ravens’ defense has dropped back to form. In the team’s last three losses, the Ravens have given up an average of just under 30 points per game. Their pass defense, in particular, has been shoddy. They are ranked 28th in pass defense, a number that the Packers should exploit with either Willis or Love under center. The Packers have averaged over 27 points per game in their last three wins. The Packers will step up on Saturday night and force the Ravens to try and stay in the game by scoring.

Take the over, 40.5.
