The San Francisco 49ers visit the Seattle Seahawks at Lumen Field in Seattle on Saturday at 8:00 PM ET, with coverage on FOX. San Francisco ended the regular season with a 12-5 record and won 23-19 over Philadelphia on Sunday in an NFC wildcard game. Seattle sits at 14-3, finishing the season first in the NFC West and receiving a bye into the divisional round after beating the 49ers 13-3 in the final game of the regular season, ending with the best record in the NFC. The 49ers have won four of the last five games, while the Seahawks have ripped off five straight wins. Make sure to read this in-depth San Francisco 49ers vs Seattle Seahawks prediction. 49ers Need a Better Performance from the Offense

The San Francisco 49ers enter with a 12-5 record and a recent slate that includes wins over the Eagles (23-19), Bears (42-38), Colts (48-27), and Titans (37-24), with the one stumble being the 13-3 loss to Seattle. In the wildcard game at Philadelphia, Brock Purdy threw for 262 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions, while Jauan Jennings added a 29-yard passing touchdown on a trick play. San Francisco did enough to win, but the passing game turned the ball over twice and cannot afford that against Seattle.

Christian McCaffrey is still the key part of the offense. McCaffrey led the team during the regular season in rushing with 1,202 yards, and McCaffrey also led the 49ers in receiving yards at 924. In the win over Philadelphia, McCaffrey ran 15 times for 48 yards and caught six balls for 66 yards with two receiving touchdowns, which shows how important it is to get the ball in the hands of the star running back. Demarcus Robinson posted 111 receiving yards in that game, giving Purdy a downfield option that included a 61-yard catch. Up front, San Francisco has to keep Purdy protected long enough for the QB to find his receivers.

Injuries: Dee Winters (Ankle) Questionable. Trent Williams (Hamstring) Questionable. Yetur Gross-Matos (Knee) Questionable. Luke Gifford (Quadriceps) Questionable. Ji’Ayir Brown (Hamstring) Questionable. George Kittle (Achilles) Out.

Seahawks Are Tough to Beat at Home

The Seattle Seahawks won 14 of 17 regular-season games, including each of the last seven, with wins over the 49ers (13-3), Panthers (27-10), Rams (38-37 OT), Colts (18-16), Falcons (37-9), and two others. Seattle held San Francisco to three points in the most recent head-to-head with the 49ers. Sam Darnold finished the regular season with 4,048 passing yards, completing 323 of 477 with 25 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. Seattle took 27 sacks on offense, which is one weakness the 49ers could exploit if the Seahawks do not protect Darnold better.

Kenneth Walker III leads the ground game with 1,027 rushing yards on 221 carries. Walker’s 4.6 yards per carry helps Seattle on early downs, and Zach Charbonnet added 730 rushing yards with 12 rushing touchdowns, giving the Seahawks multiple ways to beat opponents on the ground. The receiving corps is headlined by Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who had 1,793 receiving yards on 119 catches with 10 touchdowns. The offensive strength of Seattle matters against a San Francisco defense that is dealing with multiple players listed as questionable. Seattle’s defense also brings pressure and takeaways with 47 sacks and 18 interceptions, and Leonard Williams leads the team with seven sacks, while Ernest Jones IV has five interceptions, including a pick-six.

Injuries: Riq Woolen (Oblique) Questionable. DeMarcus Lawrence (Achilles) Questionable. Elijah Arroyo (Knee) IR. Tyrice Knight (Shoulder) Questionable. Josh Jones (Knee) Questionable.

San Francisco 49ers vs Seattle Seahawks Spread Pick

  • Seattle Seahawks -7.5 (-105) (4 Units)

Seattle has already shown its recent strength against San Francisco with the 13-3 win over the 49ers, which is part of its current seven-game winning streak. The Seahawks have real strength on offense with Darnold at 4,048 passing yards, Walker at 1,027 rushing yards, and Smith-Njigba at 1,793 receiving yards. San Francisco can keep games close using its steady offense led by Purdy and McCaffrey, and a defense that can make plenty of stops, but the injury list is heavy at key spots, and Purdy just threw two interceptions in the 23-19 win at Philadelphia. Seattle also has 47 sacks and 18 interceptions on defense, which is the exact type of pressure that can force plenty of turnovers by the 49ers in key spots.

San Francisco 49ers vs Seattle Seahawks Over/Under Pick

  • Under 44.5 (-105) (5 Units)

The last meeting is an indication of how this game on Saturday will likely finish, as Seattle won 13-3, a total of 16 points. The two also met in the season-opener with only a combined 30 points scored. San Francisco’s last game was a 23-19, and even with 291 total passing yards in that game, the 49ers still handed away possessions with two interceptions. Seattle’s defense, with 47 sacks and 18 interceptions, is a significant reason to lean toward the under, as sacks and takeaways can kill sustained drives. With Seattle comfortable playing from in front and San Francisco willing to run McCaffrey and play for field position, this sets up better for a game that stays below the mid-40s again.
