On Sunday, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will play the Seattle Seahawks at Lumen Field in an NFC clash, and we have you ready to go with our Buccaneers vs. Seahawks prediction. Kickoff from Seattle is at 4:05 p.m. ET.

The Seahawks are 3.5-point spread favorites, and the game total is 44.5 points scored.

Tampa Bay and Seattle last played in 2022, a 21-16 Bucs win. These teams have played nine times since 2006, and Tampa leads the series 5-4 (5-3-1 ATS). The under was 6-3 in those games. If you want the Buccaneers vs. Seahawks prediction, read on and check out our NFL Picks to beat the sportsbooks!

Can Tampa Bay bounce back on the road?

Tampa Bay (3-1 SU, 2-2 ATS, and 2-2 O/U) was off to an undefeated start before last week's clash with Philadelphia, picking up wins over Atlanta (23-20), Houston (20-19), and the New York Jets (29-27).

The Buccaneers battled to the end and held the Eagles scoreless in the fourth quarter, but it still wasn't enough to beat the defending Super Bowl champs. Tampa Bay committed two costly turnovers and was a combined 4-for-16 on third and fourth down, while Philly played clean football and went 3-for-3 in the red zone.

“Obviously, he’s got to take better care of the ball. Baker will be the first one to tell you that," Bucs coach Todd Bowles said.

Baker Mayfield leads the Bucs offense with 904 passing yards (226.0 per game) with eight touchdowns and one interception. He has also rushed for 129 yards on 14 carries (9.2 YPC). Mayfield's top receiving targets are WR Emeka Egbuka (18 receptions for 282 yards and four TDs) and RB Bucky Irving (19 receptions for 193 yards and two TDs), who also leads the team in rushing (71 carries for 237 yards).

Tampa Bay scores 24.3 points per game (14th) and averages 335.8 total yards (15th), including 211.8 passing yards (15th) and 124.0 rushing yards (10th). The Buccaneers defense allows 24.3 points (20th) and 272.8 total yards (4th) per game, including 187.8 passing yards (9th) and 85.0 rushing yards (5th).

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Football Injury Report: WR Mike Evans, RB Bucky Irving, and CB Jamel Dean are out, and LB Lavonte David and S Tykee Smith are questionable to play on Sunday against Seattle.

Seahawks are flying high

Seattle (3-1 SU, 3-1 ATS, and 2-2 O/U) has reeled off three consecutive victories since its Week 1 loss to San Francisco. The Seahawks beat Pittsburgh (31-17), New Orleans (44-13), and Arizona (23-20).

Seattle held off the Cardinals on the road last week, outgaining them 384-253 in total yards and winning the time of possession and turnover battles. Both teams ran the football effectively, but Seahawks QB Sam Darnold averaged 7.9 yards per pass with zero interceptions, while Arizona QB Kyler Murray averaged 3.5 yards per pass with two INTs. Seattle has won eight straight over its NFC West rival.

“Sam's playing out of his mind right now,” Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald said. “You see him, and he's such a cool customer.”

Darnold paces the Seattle offense with 905 passing yards (226.3 per game) with five touchdowns and two picks. He has completed 70.0 percent of his passes. Darnold's top receiving targets are WRs Jaxon Smith-Njigba (26 receptions for 402 yards and one TD) and Cooper Kupp (15 receptions for 162 yards). Michigan State product Kenneth Walker III leads the Seahawks on the ground with 244 yards and three rushing tuddies.

Seattle scores 27.8 points per game (6th) and averages 332.3 total yards (16th), including 221.5 passing yards (13th) and 110.8 rushing yards (18th). The Seahawks defense surrenders 16.8 points (2nd) and 297.0 total yards (11th) per game, including 207.3 passing yards (16th) and 89.8 rushing yards (6th).

Seattle Seahawks Football Injury Report: CB Devon Witherspoon, S Julian Love, DE DeMarcus Lawrence, and G Josh Jones are questionable to play against Tampa Bay.

Buccaneers vs. Seahawks Pick

Spread Pick for Buccaneers vs. Seahawks

  • Seattle -3.5 (4 Units)

The Bucs' offense was non-existent in the second half of last Sunday's loss to Philadelphia, and with Irving and Evans out this week, Mayfield will be pressured into doing too much against Seattle's stout unit (2nd in scoring defense). While I still project a close game, the Seahawks are talented enough to win by more than a field goal. Seattle is at home and playing with extra rest after beating Arizona on Thursday Night Football. Darnold has looked comfortable in his new digs, picking up where he left off after a terrific regular season last year with Minnesota. He should also benefit from a solid complementary ground game, as Walker was efficient against the Cardinals (19 carries for 81 yards).

Betting against Mayfield in this situation (15-8 ATS as an underdog) is tough, but I believe the home team has enough advantages to cover the spread.

Over/Under Pick for Buccaneers vs. Seahawks

  • Under 44.5 (5 Units)

This matchup pits two of the league's top defenses and is likely to be competitive, even with the Buccaneers missing a few key pieces. Tampa Bay will blitz often and rally to the ball to stop the run (5th in rushing yards allowed), and Seattle will also be tough to run against (6th in rushing yards allowed with zero rushing TDs allowed). The Seahawks are also stout in the red zone (6th in red zone defense), while the Bucs don't give up many third-down conversions (2nd in third down defense).
