Minnesota Looks to Climb the Ladder
Despite trailing for much of the game, the Vikings appeared to have stolen a win away from division-rival Chicago. Quarterback JJ McCarthy had an uneven performance, but drove the Vikings to a touchdown to give his team a 17-16 lead with 50 seconds left. Unfortunately, the Vikings couldn’t make it hold up.
“I just need to do a better job to make sure the rhythm stays there throughout an entire 60 minutes,” McCarthy said. “There’s definitely things that we did well today, but how can we amplify those things and how can we eliminate the mistakes?”
McCarthy finished the game just 16-of-32 for 150 yards. He threw a late touchdown but also two interceptions in the game. The Vikings finished with just 15 first downs in the game and went 3-for-12 on third down conversions. They had 265 yards of total offense, including 115 yards on the ground at 5.2 yards per carry. Packers Chasing the Top Spot in NFC North
The Green Bay Packers picked up a hard-fought win over the Giants on the road Sunday, but it came at a cost. Quarterback Jordan Love had to leave the game with a left shoulder injury, and starting running back Josh Jacobs left the game in the first half with a knee injury. Love was able to return and led the Packers to a go-ahead touchdown with four minutes left.
“It’s exactly what we needed,” said Love, who called the sore shoulder manageable and something he could play through. "We came in with the mindset it’s going to be a game — whatever it takes. We’ve got to find a way to go get a win and get us back on track. It’s never going to be pretty.
"It’s the NFL. You’ve got to find ways to go win these games."

Vikings at Packers Pick
Point Spread Pick for Vikings at PackersÂ
- Packers -6 (4 units)
The Packers have a chance to put away the floundering Vikings on Sunday. The Vikings have lost four of five games, and QB McCarthy hasn’t looked sharp since returning. He won’t be helped by a leaky offensive line, especially with Packers’ DE Parsons starting to heat up. The Packers showed their depth on Sunday, with Wilson filling in nicely for Jacobs and Willis orchestrating a key drive to set up a touchdown. Several Packers’ receivers are listed as questionable, but expect them to be ready to go in this key divisional matchup. The Vikings' inability to protect the ball, ranked 31st in turnover margin, will prove particularly costly on the road. The Pack will be back on Sunday.
Take the Packers -6
Over/Under Pick for Vikings at PackersÂ
- Under 41.5Â (4 units)
The Vikings’ offense has been a mess in recent weeks. They have failed to score at least 20 points in three of the last five games. They are just 22nd in the NFL in points per game and are below average in red zone trips this season. The Packers’ defense won’t help the Vikings’ cause. The Packers are sixth in the NFL in preventing the opposition from getting into the red zone. The Vikings have done a solid job of preventing touchdowns in the red zone, ranked fourth in the league. The Packers will win this one, but expect it to be low scoring.
