Boston was outshot 9-6 in the second period with neither side scoring, keeping the game scoreless at the second intermission. In the third period, the Bruins were outshot 11-5 but outscored the Hurricanes 2-1 to earn the win. Bruins vs. Islanders Pick

Bruins vs. Islanders Moneyline Pick

  • Islanders -155

Boston comes in off three straight wins, while the Islanders have won two straight. The Islanders are out to avenge last week’s loss in Beantown. New York has been good offensively, and they have momentum after rallying to stun the Blue Jackets Sunday night. The Bruins did get Hampus Lindholm back recently, but their goaltending has been rather suspect in the first month of the season. Boston has struggled away from the TD Garden, going 1-4-0 as the visiting team. New York is 4-2-0 at home on the yea,r and they should find a way to pull out the win as their offensive firepower carries them to a victory here.

Bruins vs. Islanders Over/Under Pick

  • Over 6 (-110)

Boston has seen the over post an 8-6 mark in their first 14 games of the year. The Bruins have an average total of 6.64 goals per game on the year, and that number bumps up to 6.80 goals per game on the road this season. New York has seen the over hit in nine of their 12 games on the year. The Islanders have an average total of 6.75 goals per gam,e and that number is 6.67 goals per game at home on the year. We’ve seen the over post a 7-2-1 mark in the last 10 meetings between the teams, including the first meeting between the teams last week, when the teams combined for seven goals. Take the over here as a result.
