Boston Bruins vs. Utah Mammoth Picks and Prediction for Sunday, October 19, 2025
Use Code WWWC Boston Bruins (3-2-0) vs. Utah Mammoth (3-2-0)
The NHL betting action continues Sunday, October 19, 2025, with the Boston Bruins taking on the Utah Mammoth in the cross-conference showdown at Delta Center in Salt Lake City, and we’ve got you covered with our Bruins vs. Mammoth prediction.
Boston and Utah open their two-game regular-season series. They split a two-game set last season, with each team emerging victorious on the home ice. Utah outlasted Boston 2-1 in overtime, and the Bruins responded with a 1-0 victory.
Let’s take a closer look at this Bruins vs. Mammoth prediction, one of our NHL picks for Sunday’s card. The puck drop is set at 7:00 PM ET, and the Bruins are -215 moneyline favorites with a total of 6.5 goals.
The Bruins play without rest
Saturday’s games have been excluded from the analysis, and the Boston Bruins visited the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday night, looking to snap a two-game skid. Over their previous two showings, the Bruins have lost to the Tampa Bay Lightning 4-3 and at the Vegas Golden Knights 6-5.

The Bruins started the season with a three-game winning streak, beating the Washington Capitals 3-1, the Chicago Blackhawks 4-3 in overtime, and the Buffalo Sabres 3-1. Jeremy Swayman has only allowed two goals during that stretch, while Joonas Korpisalo gave up three goals on 24 shots against Chicago.
Swayman was projected to guard the cage against the Avalanche on Saturday, and Korpisalo should get the starting call on Sunday, when the Bruins take on the Mammoth. Last Monday, Korpisalo yielded four goals on 23 shots against Tampa Bay.
Through their first five outings in 2025-26, the Bruins have only converted three of their 19 power-play opportunities. At least, their penalty killing has been terrific (18-for-20).
The Mammoth eye their third straight W
The Utah Mammoth are coming off Friday’s 6-3 home victory over the San Jose Sharks. After going 1-2-0 on a road trip, the Mammoth beat the Calgary Flames 3-1 and cruised past the lowly Sharks.
The Mammoth started strong last Friday. Nick Schmaltz scored a couple of first-period goals, but the Sharks tied the game in the second. Since then, it’s been a one-way street, as the Mammoth netted four straight goals.
Schmaltz accounted for three goals and an assist last Friday, while Clayton Keller scored a goal and made three assists. Utah outshot San Jose 34-21 while going 1-for-4 with the man advantage, but the Mammoth killed just one of three power-play opportunities.
Karel Vejmelka continues to impress in Utah’s crease. The 29-year-old goalie is 3-1-0 with a 2.00 GAA and a .912 save percentage in 2025-26. Vitek Vanecek guarded the cage once, allowing two goals on 13 shots in a 3-1 defeat at the Chicago Blackhawks this past Monday.
Bruins vs. Mammoth Pick
Spread Pick for Bruins vs. Mammoth
- Utah Mammoth -1.5 (5 units)
This is a tough spot for Boston. The Bruins will take the ice on the second night of a back-to-back set, coming off a difficult road clash against the Avalanche, who are one of the best teams in the Western Conference.
Hereof, I can only look at the Mammoth, even if they start Vitek Vanecek. Utah leans on its sturdy defense and has enough weapons to slow the Bruins down. The Mammoth have allowed the third-fewest shots in the NHL so far this season. The Bruins don’t look like a good defensive team, and Joonas Korpisalo has struggled thus far.
Over/Under Pick for Bruins vs. Mammoth
- Under 6.5 (5 units)
As I mentioned above, the Mammoth lean on their defense and goaltending. They have a few very dangerous forwards on the top two lines, but Utah is just 2-for-20 with the man advantage, which is awful.
The total is shaded to the under, but that’s the only way to go. You can opt for a flat six-goal line. Four of Utah’s five games this season have produced five or fewer goals in total.
Boston will probably look to slow things down on the second night of a back-to-back. The Bruins need to tighten things up on the defensive side of the puck, or they will be in trouble.
