Canucks vs. Ducks prediction

Vancouver Canucks (9-12-2) vs. Anaheim Ducks (14-7-1)

The 2025-26 NHL season goes on Wednesday, November 26, with the Vancouver Canucks facing off against the Anaheim Ducks in the Pacific Division showdown at Honda Center in Anaheim, CA, and we’ve got you covered with our Canucks vs. Ducks prediction.

Vancouver meets Anaheim for the first time this term. Last season, the Canucks took three out of four games from the Ducks, who have only won one of their previous 11 encounters with Vancouver.

Let’s take a closer look at this Canucks vs. Ducks prediction, one of our NHL picks for Wednesday’s huge 15-game card. The Ducks are -160 moneyline favorites with a total of 6.5 goals, and the puck drop is set at 10:00 PM ET.

The Canucks are in a bad place

The Vancouver Canucks have only won one of their last seven games overall. After stopping their three-game slide with a 6-2 road victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning, the Canucks dropped three straight contests against the Florida Panthers 8-5, the Dallas Stars 4-2, and the Calgary Flames 5-2.

Last Sunday, the Canucks took an early lead over the Flames. Filip Hronek found the back of the net after just 1:05 of play in the first period. Then, the Canucks allowed five straight goals to the Flames, who are one of the worst offensive teams in the league.

Kevin Lankinen gave up five goals on just 21 shots last Sunday. He won’t travel with the team to Anaheim due to personal reasons. With Thatcher Demko (lower body) on the IR, Jiri Patera is expected to guard the cage against the Ducks.

Patera made one start for the Canucks, yielding seven goals on 40 shots in that 8-5 defeat against Florida. The Canucks are dead last in the NHL in goals against (3.74 per game) and penalty killing (69.7%).

The Ducks look to stay on track

The Anaheim Ducks have won three of their previous four games overall. After a couple of wins against the Utah Mammoth 3-2 in overtime and the Boston Bruins 4-3 and a 3-2 loss to the Ottawa Senators, the Ducks outlasted the Vegas Golden Knights 4-3 in overtime this past Saturday.

Anaheim outshot Vegas 33-32 on the night. The Ducks erased a 2-0 deficit and overcame a 3-2 deficit thanks to Troy Terry and Cutter Gauthier. Lukas Dostal had another solid game, posting 29 saves, and the 25-year-old netminder advanced to 11-5-1 on the season.

Dostal holds a 2.81 GAA and a .904 save percentage, while Petr Mrazek is 3-2-0 with a 3.61 GAA and a .886 save percentage in 2025-26. The Ducks allow 3.14 goals per game (21st in the NHL) and score 3.59 goals in return (2nd).

Center Mikael Granlund (G3, A6) didn’t play against Vegas due to a lower-body injury, missing his fifth straight game. Granlund hasn’t resumed skating yet, so he should miss Wednesday’s clash against Vancouver.

Spread Pick for Canucks vs. Ducks

  • Anaheim Ducks -1.5 (5 units)

The Canucks have struggled to defend all season, and with Jiri Patera in the crease, I can only look at the Ducks in this matchup. The Ducks’ time has come. Anaheim is finally in the playoff race, and the Ducks’ offense looks good.

Hereof, I’m backing the Ducks to beat the puckline. They are not a great defensive team by any stretch of the imagination, but this Vancouver team cannot stop anything. I expect the Ducks to torture the Canucks and win comfortably.

Over/Under Pick for Canucks vs. Ducks

  • Over 6.5 (5 units)

The Canucks have allowed four or more goals in six of their previous seven outings, while 11 of their last 12 games overall have seen at least seven goals on the scoreboard. Vancouver’s defense is awful, but the Canucks can score.

No team has allowed more power-play goals than Vancouver (23). The Canucks are 18-for-77 with the man advantage (tied for 8th), while the Ducks are 16th in the NHL in power-play percentage (15-for-74). Anaheim has struggled with the man down, too, going 57-for-76, so I expect a high-scoring affair.
