Use Code WWWC Chicago Blackhawks (6-5-3) vs. Calgary Flames (4-9-2)
The 2025-26 NHL betting action continues Friday, November 7, with the small four-game card, including the Western Conference showdown at Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, AB, so we’ve got the Blackhawks vs. Flames prediction and the latest team stats, news, and odds update.
Chicago and Calgary start their three-game regular-season series. Last season, the Flames swept their three-game set against the Blackhawks (3-1, 6-4, and 5-2). Chicago has only won one of its previous five contests versus Calgary, and the Blackhawks are winless in three straight visits to Scotiabank Saddledome.
Let’s take a closer look at this Blackhawks vs. Flames prediction, one of our NHL picks for Friday night. The puck drop is set at 9:00 PM ET, and the Flames open as -160 moneyline favorites with a total of 6.0 goals.
The Blackhawks lean on Spencer Knight
The Chicago Blackhawks put an end to their three-game losing streak last Wednesday. After consecutive road defeats at the Winnipeg Jets 6-3, the Edmonton Oilers 3-2 in overtime, and the Seattle Kraken 3-1, the Blackhawks beat the Vancouver Canucks 5-2 as +130 road underdogs.

The third period at Rogers Arena in Vancouver was bonkers. After a couple of scoreless periods, the Blackhawks accounted for four straight goals. Then, the Canucks cut the deficit to 4-2 before Connor Bedard sealed the win with an empty-netter with a minute left on the clock.
Tyler Bertuzzi scored a hat trick against the Canucks, while Spencer Knight posted a staggering 43 saves. Knight is now 5-3-2 with a 2.56 GAA and a .919 save percentage in 2025-26, while Arvid Soderblom is 1-2-1 with a 3.04 GAA and a .885 save percentage.
The Blackhawks are 10th in the NHL in goals against (2.79 per game) and 15th in goals for (3.14). Bedard leads the charge with seven goals and 11 assists, while Frank Nazar has amassed five goals and six dishes this season.
The Flames eye their third straight W
The Calgary Flames struggled a lot in October, going 2-8-2 through their first 12 games of the season. After a 4-2 road loss against the Nashville Predators on the first day of November, the Flames strung together a couple of wins over the Philadelphia Flyers 2-1 on the road and the Columbus Blue Jackets 5-1 at home.
Last Wednesday, the Flames beat the Blue Jackets by four goals despite being outshot 43-26. Five Flames found the back of the net, including Blake Coleman and Nazem Kadri, while Dustin Wolf posted a whopping 42 saves.
It was Wolf’s best game of the season, and the 24-year-old netminder is now 4-8-1 with a 3.19 GAA and a .895 save percentage in 2025-26. Devin Cooley has logged a couple of starts thus far, going 0-1-1 with a 1.98 GAA and a .933 save percentage.
The Flames rank 23rd in the NHL in goals against (3.20 per game) and 31st in goals for (2.33). Kadri leads the way for Calgary with four goals and seven assists, while Coleman is the team’s top goalscorer with six.
Blackhawks vs. Flames Pick
Moneyline Pick for Blackhawks vs. Flames
- Chicago Blackhawks (5 units)
The Flames finally got things going and scored five goals against the Blue Jackets. However, they allowed 43 shots to Columbus, and Dustin Wolf gets a lot of credit for that victory. Hereof, there’s no way I’m going to take the Flames at -160 or back them to beat the Blackhawks by two or more goals.
Chicago relies on Spencer Knight’s goaltending a lot, but the Blackhawks have a few very dangerous offensive weapons on their top two lines. The Blackhawks are seventh in the NHL in shooting percentage (12.4%), while the Flames rank 31st in this category (8.4%). Give me Chicago at plus money.
Over/Under Pick for Blackhawks vs. Flames
- Under 6.0 (5 units)
Calgary is seventh in the NHL in high-danger scoring chances (54.2%), but as I mentioned, their shooting has been awful so far this season. On the other side, the Blackhawks are 24th in the league in high-danger scoring chances (46.0%), but their shooting has been excellent thus far.
Neither side has impressed with the man advantage. I expect Spencer Knight and Dustin Wolf to guard the cages in this game, so give me the under on the total. These two guys were magnificent last Wednesday.
