Columbus is led by a great offense

The Blue Jackets have turned their season around thanks to a new coach behind the bench and an offense that averages 3.09 goals per game with 22 goals in the last four games. Charlie Coyle and Adam Fantilli have scored 28 goals and 46 assists while defenseman Zach Werenski has added 19 goals and 41 assists from the point to open up the offense.

The offense has stepped up but the defense has struggled, allowing 3.26 goals per game. Ivan Provorov and Zach Werenski have combined for 6.3 defensive point shares but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to find open shots on the net at will. In addition, goaltender Jet Greaves has struggled in his latest starts, allowing eight goals in his last two.

Key injury report for Blue Jackets

  • Kirill Marchenko is day-to-day. Has 19 goals and 27 assists.

Devils are let down by awful offense

The Devils are having a rough season with their offense letting them down, scoring only 2.58 goals per game with only nine goals in the last four games. Nico Hischier and Jesper Bratt have scored 31 goals and 50 assists but the rest of the offense has struggled. Only six skaters have 10 goals or more, and opponents can limit the top-heavy offense as a result.

The offense has struggled but the defense has also been a mess, allowing 3.07 goals per game. Dougie Hamilton and Jonas Seigenthaler have combined for 5.2 defensive point shares but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to find open shots on the net with ease. In addition, goaltender Jacob Markstrom has struggled, allowing nine goals in the last three starts.

Key injury report for Devils

  • Jack Hughes is day-to-day. Has 12 goals and 24 assists.
  • Luke Hughes is on injured reserve. Is a key part of the defense.

Blue Jackets vs Devils Pick

Money Line Pick For Blue Jackets vs Devils

  • Blue Jackets (+105) (4 units)

The Blue Jackets are playing great across the board, and they look to dominate this one against a struggling Devils team. The Blue Jackets, who average 3.09 goals per game, should pile on the goals with Charlie Coyle and Adam Fantilli carrying the puck into the offensive zone while creating open shots with quick passes. The Blue Jackets should eliminate the Devils offense, which has scored only nine goals in the last four games, with Ivan Provorov, Zach Werenski, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone while limiting shots on the net, allowing goaltender Jet Greaves to make plenty of big saves. The Blue Jackets should win the game with a strong performance on the road.

Take the Blue Jackets money line as road Underdogs.

Over/Under Pick For Blue Jackets vs Devils

  • Over 6 (5 Units)

The Blue Jackets are led by a great offense, and this game looks to be a high-scoring one from the opening puck drop. The Devils should create plenty of scoring chances with Nico Hischier, Jesper Bratt, and the rest of the forward unit carrying the puck into the offensive zone while creating open shots with quick passes. The Blue Jackets, who have scored 22 goals in the last four games, should run up the score against the Devils, who allow 3.07 goals per game, with Charlie Coyle, Adam Fantilli, and the rest of the forward unit establishing a strong offensive zone presence and creating open shots with cross-ice and centering passes as Zach Werenski picks apart the Devils defense from the point. The Over should cover in a high-scoring game with both offenses stepping up.

Take the Over on 6 goals.
