Dallas Stars: High-Octane Offense on the Road

The Stars (26-10-8) possess one of the most lethal offenses in the league, averaging 3.41 goals per game. Led by Mikko Rantanen (59 points) and Jason Robertson (25 goals), Dallas has been particularly dangerous on the power play, clicking at a massive 29.5%. Their road record of 14-4-5 is among the league's best, showing their ability to travel and dominate.

However, the Stars' depth is currently being tested. Captain Jamie Benn is day-to-day with an upper-body injury (specifically a nose injury) sustained earlier this week. Winger Adam Erne is also day-to-day with an undisclosed injury. More significantly, Dallas is without Tyler Seguin, who is out for the season with a knee injury. In goal, Jake Oettinger (2.76 GAA) is the projected starter, though Casey DeSmith has been excellent in relief with a .916 save percentage.

San Jose Sharks: The "Celebrini Era" Surges

The Sharks (22-18-3) are the NHL's hottest team over the last week, riding a five-game winning streak that includes an overtime thriller against the Kings and a blowout win over Tampa Bay. Rookie phenom Macklin Celebrini is making a massive case for the Calder Trophy, leading the team with 67 points (24G, 43A).

San Jose's injury report shows signs of improvement. Defenseman Vincent Desharnais is expected to be a game-time decision and could return from an upper-body injury that has kept him out since November. However, the blue line remains thin with Shakir Mukhamadullin and John Klingberg still on Injured Reserve. Yaroslav Askarov is the projected starter; while his 3.44 GAA looks high, he has been the primary beneficiary of the Sharks' recent offensive explosion.

Dallas Stars vs. San Jose Sharks Prediction

While Dallas has won both previous meetings this season, this is a different San Jose team. The Sharks are playing with immense confidence at home, and the Stars are navigating some key injuries to their veteran core. This has the makings of a high-scoring, back-and-forth affair.

Dallas Stars vs. San Jose Sharks ATS Pick

  • Pick: San Jose Sharks +1.5 (-170)

The Stars are favorites for a reason, but the Sharks' current momentum is hard to ignore. San Jose has been excellent at keeping games close at the SAP Center, and Celebrini’s line is currently a nightmare to match up against. With Jamie Benn potentially out or limited, Dallas loses a bit of the physical edge they usually use to bully younger teams. Expect the Sharks to keep this within a goal.

Dallas Stars vs. San Jose Sharks Total Pick

  • Pick: Over 6.5 (-105)

Both teams are trending toward the over. Dallas scores in bunches but has shown some defensive lapses on the road recently (allowing 6 to Carolina). San Jose’s defensive metrics are still bottom-tier (3.49 GA/G), but their offense is averaging nearly 5 goals per game during their win streak. With Robertson and Rantanen on one side and Celebrini on the other, this should be a fireworks show.
