Ducks are led by a remarkable offense

The Ducks are atop the Pacific Division thanks to their offense, which is scoring 3.63 goals per game with 19 goals in the last five games. Leo Carlsson, Cutter Gauthier, and Troy Terry have 34 goals and 54 assists while Beckett Sennecke, Mason McTavich, and Chris Kreider have contributed 23 goals and 29 assists to give the Ducks a forward unit that can come at teams in waves.

The offense has been great, but the defense has struggled, allowing 3.25 goals per game, including nine goals in the last two games. Jacob Trouba and Olen Zellweger have combined for 3.1 defensive point shares but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to find open shots on the net at will. In addition, with Lukas Dostal out with an injury, the Ducks are turning to Petr Mrazek, who has allowed seven goals in his last two starts.

Key injury report for Ducks

  • Lukas Dostal (upper body) will miss two to three weeks. Has 3.6 goals saved above average.

Chicago hopes to improve on both ends to snap losing streak

The Blackhawks have fallen apart lately with their offense scoring only 11 goals in the last five games. The hope is that Connor Bedard and Tyler Bertuzzi can step up and carry them as they have 26 goals and 27 assists and have been the stars of the forward unit.

The offense looks to improve, and the same is true about a stumbling defense that is allowing 21 goals in the last five games. Wyatt Kaiser and Matt Grzelcyk are the defensemen who will help them rebound, as they have 2.8 defensive point shares. More importantly, goaltender Spencer Knight must improve in the net as he has been great all season with 11.4 goals saved above average, but allowed four goals in his last start and eight in his last three.

Ducks vs Blackhawks Pick

Money Line Pick For Ducks vs Blackhawks

  • Ducks (-120) (4 units)

The Ducks have been great across the board and have the offense to dominate this game on the road. The Ducks, who average 3.63 goals per game, should find the back of the net at will against the Blackhawks, who have allowed 21 goals in their last five games, with Leo Carlsson, Cutter Gauthier, and the rest of the forward unit carrying the puck into the offensive zone while creating open shots with quick passes. The Ducks look to limit a Blackhawks offense that has scored only 11 goals in the last five games, with Jacob Trouba and Olen Zellweger creating turnovers while goaltender Petr Mrazek blanks the shots on the net. The Ducks should win the game with a dominant performance on the road.

Take the Ducks money line as road Favorites.

Over/Under Pick For Ducks vs Blackhawks

  • Over 6 (5 Units)

With the Ducks playing incredibly on the offensive end, they look to make the game a high-scoring game from the opening puck drop. The Blackhawks look to create plenty of scoring chances against the Ducks, who have allowed nine goals in the last two games, with Connor Bedard and Tyler Bertuzzi controlling the puck in the offensive zone and creating open shots with quick passes. The Ducks, who have scored 19 goals in the last five games, should run up the score and shred Spencer Knight, who allowed four goals in his last start, with Leo Carlsson, Cutter Gauthier, Chris Kreider, and the rest of the forward unit establishing a strong offensive zone presence and creating open shots with effective puck movement to overwhelm the Blackhawks. The Over should cover in a high-scoring game with both offenses stepping up.

Take the Over on 6 goals.
