Oilers vs. Lightning Pick
Oilers vs. Lightning Moneyline Pick
- Lightning (4 units)
Edmonton is playing the second game of a back-to-back set here and their third game in four nights in a third different city. The Oilers have to fly in after playing Washington on Wednesday night, while Tampa Bay is sitting at home. Edmonton has struggled keeping the puck out of their own net and Pickard, should he get the start, is sporting a GAA over four and a save percentage that is dismal to say the least. He has a -10.6 GSAA (goals saved above average) and has recorded just one appearance with a save percentage above .870 on the year. What’s worse is that outing came in his first start of the season. Since that point, he has surrendered four, five, four, three, five and five goals. It’s tough to win in situations like that and Tampa Bay, rested and rolling, takes advantage as they earn the home win.
Oilers vs. Lightning Over/Under Pick
- Under (4 units)
Edmonton entered Wednesday night having seen the under post an 11-9-1 mark on the year. The Oilers have an average total of 6.48 goals per game on the year and that number falls to 5.77 goals per game on the road entering that tilt with the Capitals. Tampa Bay has seen the under post a 10-8-1 mark in their 19 games this season in relation to the total entering Wednesday night. The Lightning have seen an average of 6.05 goals per game this season and that number bumps up to 6.40 goals per game on home ice this season. Both meetings last season fell short of the total and with the Oilers dealing with the fatigue factor here, this game winds up short of the mark, even if the Lightning torches Pickard.
