The Kings finally won at home
The Los Angeles Kings snapped their two-game skid last Tuesday. After consecutive losses against the Detroit Red Wings 4-3 in a shootout and the New Jersey Devils 4-1, the Kings blanked the Winnipeg Jets 3-0.
It was the first home victory of the season for the Kings, who will close down a four-game homestand on Thursday. Los Angeles outshot Winnipeg 26-23 on the night while going 1-for-6 with the man advantage. Adrian Kempe, Kevin Fiala, and Drew Doughty scored a goal each, while Darcy Kuemper posted his first shutout in 2025-26.
Kuemper is now 4-3-3 on the season. He holds a 2.57 GAA and a .900 save percentage, while Anton Forsberg is 2-1-1 with a 3.19 GAA and a .894 save percentage. Kuemper is expected to make his fifth straight start when the Panthers come to town.
The Kings score 2.79 goals per game (tied for 22nd in the NHL) on a 9.4 shooting percentage (26th). They are just 7-for-43 with the man advantage (24th), and Adrian Kempe leads the charge for LA with six goals and 10 assists in 14 games.

The Kings have been inconsistent so far this season, but they just blanked the Jets, who are one of the best teams in the Western Conference. Darcy Kuemper must be fired up following his first shutout of the season, so I expect the Kings’ defense to make a difference.
