Kings looking to get back on track
After going to Montreal and beating the Canadiens 5-1, the Los Angeles Kings are in second place in the Pacific Division with an 8-5-4 record. They’ve been at their best on the road, going 7-1-2.
Overall, the Kings have struggled offensively, ranking 20th with 2.9 goals per game. Their power play hasn’t been much help either, converting on just 16.7% of the team's opportunities (26th). Adrian Kempe leads the way with 18 points, and Kevin Fiala has registered a team-high 57 shots.

The Kings have made up for their scoring inconsistencies with a a disciplined defense. They rank 11th in goals allowed (2.9) and 15th in shots against (27.4). Veteran goalie Darcy Kuemper (6-3-3) has been strong in net, posting a 2.40 goals-against average.
If you like goals, check out a Maple Leafs game
After winning five of six games, the Toronto Maple Leafs have now lost their last three games. During the current losing streak, the Maple Leafs have fallen the Bruins twice, with a loss to the Hurricanes sandwiched between. Toronto’s offense has been doing the heavy lifting, ranking fourth in the NHL at 3.6 goals per game while generating 28.2 shots per contest (17th).
William Nylander leads Toronto with 24 points, while Auston Matthews remains a force with 65 shots on goal and a team-best +9 rating. Toronto also ranks second in the NHL in faceoff percentage (55.1%), giving them a steady edge in puck possession.
The problem with Toronto lies on defense. They rank 31st in goals against (3.8 per game) and 28th in shots allowed (30.8). Goaltender Anthony Stolarz leads the club with a 6-5-1 record but his 3.51 GAA reflects the team’s defensive issues.
Los Angeles Kings vs. Toronto Maple Leafs Predictions
Moneyline Prediction for Kings vs. Maple Leafs:
- Toronto Maple Leafs +100 (3 units)
The Kings are solid defensively, but Toronto’s firepower and home-ice advantage are hard to ignore. The Maple Leafs have also won three straight meetings in this series, including two outright as underdogs. The Maple Leafs' offense has been explosive, and even with defensive question marks, they’ve shown the ability to outscore mistakes.
The Kings have been excellent on the road, but I see this as a strong focus spot for the Leafs who should be hungry to end their losing streak. Take Toronto.
Total Prediction for Kings vs. Maple Leafs:
- Over 5.5 (5 units)
The Los Angeles Kings are coming off a five-goal performance in their most recent win against Montreal, and are in a good spot to score plenty of goals again here.
Toronto has been an over bettor’s dream this season. They’re 15-2 to the over and have seen 11 straight games go above the total, and there is no reason to fade that trend until it stops cashing.
